West Coast Spring Showcase: 15U Standouts (Part 2)

The Woodburn-bound eighth-grader (2029) has great handles and isn't afraid of pressure defense. She can beat the double team on the dribble or the pass. Olivo blows by and finishes with the scoop layup. She's fast and creative in the lane on both sides and can draw the foul. Olivo plays tough defense on and off the ball. She forces the jump ball, rips the dribbler, and jumps the passing lane for the steal. The Century-bound eighth-grader (2029) is smooth with nice handles and can shoot the ball. She nailed the pull-up three, the catch-and-shoot three, and the out-of-rhythm wide-open three. Humphries gets downhill at her own pace and is creative at the rim. She can take the baseline and finish a clean reverse layup. She has good awareness and defense to pick the pass. The Oregon City-bound eighth-grader (2029) consistently boxed out, secured the defensive rebound, and made the crisp outlet pass to set her team up for success on offense. She has good vision and can launch a full-court assist in transition or find the pass for the assist in the half-court. Pillars makes effective cuts in the lane and finishes at the rim. She can take the ball up strong underneath and finish through contact and the foul. She sells the jab fake to make the clean pass or get downhill. She can stop on a dime and drop a dime.
