Clackamas, Ore.— Flight Basketball Club Oregon and Portland's Team Lillard played up in the HoopSource West Coast Spring Showcase 16U/15U bracket at Clackamas High School over the weekend.

Flight continues to play with a growth mindset week after week. The young and talented squad hung with the top two teams, Vancouver Grizzlies and Portland Lady Fly, and routed the Tacoma Lady Swish 78-20 to take third.

Team Lillard went 2-2 in their first tournament of the season, losing by double digits to Flight and the eventual 16U/15U tournament champions, the Vancouver Grizzlies.

The Grizzlies and Team Lillard play next in different pools of the 16U/15U bracket at the HoopSource Memorial Day Championships, where they could match up again this weekend.

Here are 4 more players from the 16U/15U bracket who caught my eye on Sunday:

FBC Flight 5-foot-6 combo guard [player_tooltip player_id='1264946' first='Alisson' last='Olivo'] is a fast, athletic two-way player who consistently attacked the rim at the West Coast Spring Showcase. The Woodburn-bound eighth-grader (2029) has great handles and isn't afraid of pressure defense. She can beat the double team on the dribble or the pass. Olivo blows by and finishes with the scoop layup. She's fast and creative in the lane on both sides and can draw the foul. Olivo plays tough defense on and off the ball. She forces the jump ball, rips the dribbler, and jumps the passing lane for the steal. Olivo will be a welcome addition to a Woodburn squad that had a losing record in Oregon's most competitive 5A league last season.

Team Lillard 5-foot-8 shooting guard Nahla Humphries is an intriguing underclassman who knows her way around the court and played with confidence and swagger at the West Coast Spring Showcase. The Century-bound eighth-grader (2029) is smooth with nice handles and can shoot the ball. She nailed the pull-up three, the catch-and-shoot three, and the out-of-rhythm wide-open three. Humphries gets downhill at her own pace and is creative at the rim. She can take the baseline and finish a clean reverse layup. She has good awareness and defense to pick the pass. Humphries could make an instant impact at Century in her freshman season playing alongside point guard Mia Brownson and center [player_tooltip player_id='832597' first='Kiara' last='Green'].

FBC Flight 5-foot-10 forward/guard [player_tooltip player_id='1264972' first='Emily' last='Pillars'] was a good defensive rebounder, a heads-up passer, and a solid off-ball cutter at the West Coast Spring Showcase. The Oregon City-bound eighth-grader (2029) consistently boxed out, secured the defensive rebound, and made the crisp outlet pass to set her team up for success on offense. She has good vision and can launch a full-court assist in transition or find the pass for the assist in the half-court. Pillars makes effective cuts in the lane and finishes at the rim. She can take the ball up strong underneath and finish through contact and the foul. Pillars is a player to look out for at Oregon City.

Team Lillard 5-foot-1 point guard [player_tooltip player_id='1151382' first='Penelope' last='Duncan'] is a small, aggressive two-way player who got her team into its offense and played tough on-ball defense at the West Coast Spring Showcase. The Union freshman (2028) is quick with good handles, vision, and passing. She is strong and active with the ball, keeping her defender on their toes. She sells the jab fake to make the clean pass or get downhill. She can stop on a dime and drop a dime. Duncan works hard on defense, pressures the ball, and boxes out to win the rebound.
