Versatility. That's a powerful word among coaches. If you have someone who is versatile, you can do a multitude of things. It's a plug-and-play type of thing. Think of it this way, if you have a player who can defend a guard and a big, don't you think they will have a mismatch on the offensive end? What if you have a big who can step out and shoot the 3, don't you think the middle will now open up to have driving lanes? What about having a guard who can handle the ball and shoot? How will a coach try to defend them now? See, having versatile players poses a multitude of threats for an opposing coach.

In our state, we have kids who can do just that. We, as coaches, media personnel, tend to give someone a position vs. just being positionless. The point of the story is that versatility gives a team an edge, and that can be on either end of the floor. With that being said, let's take a look at a few kids who can be seen as versatile from our state.

Talk about someone who is versatile, this kid can give an opponent fits once she gets going. She can play along the arc, do her thing in the mid-range, and contribute down low, displaying an impressive body of work with her back to the basket. She can guard both bigs and guards, but more importantly, whatever the assignment is, she gets it done. Tough kid who is only getting better every time she steps onto the floor.

This kid has risen, and she isn't stopping yet. She can pretty much play all positions as she plays with such a motor, which poses a threat to opposing coaches. She can handle the ball, shoot from multiple spots at a high clip, defend, contribute on the boards, get steals, etc. What I love about her game the most is that she is willing to give up her body and go for loose balls. She's on the floor diving for it, she's trying to save it from going out of bounds. This kid is a hustler, and she plays the game with intentions and does so the right way. A stellar kid who is only getting better.

A quiet kid who lets her game do the talking. She can shoot the 3-ball with efficiency or get to the rim with ease. She can start transitional breaks after getting rebounds on the defensive end. Taking it coast to coast and finishing is what she does best. She plays with speed, power, and quickness, things that opponents tend to struggle with. She's a threat no matter where she is on the floor. When she has the ball in her hands, good things tend to happen. Keep an eye out for this kid as she is going to be turning a lot of heads this upcoming season.

Versatile big that can do it from both inside and out. She can shoot the 3-ball at a high clip, but if she needs to drive to get a bucket or post up around the blocks, she can do that too. Her length poses a threat as she can block shots and deflect passes. She's big on the boards as well, eliminating second-change opportunities for teams. She plays the game with a ton of energy, and when she is on the floor, good things tend to happen. She is a 3-level scoring threat that college coaches should out on their radars. This girl is tough and will be a problem for years to come.

Tough kid that can do all things. She can handle the rock, dime up her teammates, rebound, block shots, etc. When it comes to scoring, she can create off the dribble, exploit the high post area, and sink 3s from along the arc. When she is in a groove, geez, it's hard to slow her down. She is a solid two-way player who doesn't take any plays off. No matter the time, situation, or venue, she's going to be in the mix and impact the game for someone. This kid has grown over the past years, and she is a prospect coaches should take a look at. Solid two-way player with a bright future. Look for her to help lead CAK deep into state contention.
