Prep Girls Hoops Missouri was at Kirkwood High on Saturday to watch five games at the Kirkwood/Marquette Shootout. Here is a look at some of the top teams that we watched.

Troy: The Trojans were without 6'0 2027 standout [player_tooltip player_id='777610' first='Ellie' last='Moore'] on Saturday, but they still looked strong in their two games. They have a dynamic backcourt in 2026 [player_tooltip player_id='982968' first='Mya' last='Robinson'] and 2027 [player_tooltip player_id='777615' first='Grace' last='Means']. Robinson is a tenacious two-way guard while the talented 5'10 Means is coming back from a knee injury. The other experienced guard is 2026 Ashlynn Meyers, who can really shoot it from downtown. [player_tooltip player_id='1259034' first='Jada' last='Pace'] is an incoming 2029 guard who can handle the ball and shoot it. 2026 forward [player_tooltip player_id='1122316' first='Avery' last='Daugherty'] is a solid player who operates well from the high post. Forward Annabelle Raney was also shooting it well off the catch and running the court. One player to watch in the future is 6'1 2020 forward Mya Lewis. We will have to wait another year for her. She's a talent.

******

Fort Zumwalt South: The Bulldogs made a surprise run to a third-place finish in the Class 5 state tournament last season. They should be even better with everyone coming back. They looked strong in a win over Clayton. They are led by 5'10" 2027 forward [player_tooltip player_id='894062' first='Taylor' last='McCarty'], a talented lefty who can score it in the post or work the high post area with equal effectiveness. She works well up front with 5'11" 2027 forward [player_tooltip player_id='1231691' first='Jenna' last='Mehrhoff'], who can really deal in the low post area. The guard play is very good with 2026 Bridget Herwick, who shoot it from distance and play solid defense. 2027 guard Gabrielle Anderson was getting steals and transition layups with her defensive anticipation. Kylie Hart is a 2026 guard who showed some good athleticism, especially on the defensive end.

******

MICDS: The youthful Rams squad was playing without 6'0" All-State guard [player_tooltip player_id='750683' first='Jordyn' last='Haywood'], who is currently with USA Basketball. Some other talented young players looked good on Saturday, especially in the 2028 class. [player_tooltip player_id='1035095' first='Kennedy' last='Newman'] is a 6'0" forward who can stretch the floor with her 3-point shooting, but she can also drive attack off the dribble. Ria Obinegbo is a 5'7 guard who was scoring from all three levels with her improved offensive bag. Lily Harris is a young point guard who did a good job of getting downhill on the drive. Forward Lily Brown had some solid moments in the low post with a couple of nice drop step moves.

******

Marquette: The Mustangs have a very capable young group that will continue to develop over the course of the year. They have a Division I prospect in 6'0 2027 [player_tooltip player_id='941760' first='MaryAnn' last='Kenyon'], who was playing virtually every position on the floor. She is very skilled and versatile. They also have a group of good 2028 guards, led by [player_tooltip player_id='1092874' first='Bailey' last='Owen'], who was a freshman starter last year. She plays the game with a lot of savvy. Lilian Beno and Maddie Loder are also 2028 guards who both have a good feel for the game. They can both handle and pass the ball. Another 2028 who has potential is forward Hailey Williams, who really rebounded the ball very well. Forward Brooklyn Bode is a 6'1" 2027 forward who plays well in the high post.

********

Webster Groves: The Stateswomen were without their talented 2026 shooting guard [player_tooltip player_id='351753' first='Ava' last='Vanecek'] on Saturday. They had another shooting guard who was impressive on Saturday against Eureka in 2027 guard [player_tooltip player_id='1044977' first='Hadley' last='Nordmann']. When her team started slow, she busted loose for 10 points, which included a trio of 3-pointers. They have a pair of forwards in 5'11" 2027 Anna Lawless and 5'10" 2027 [player_tooltip player_id='1117233' first='Kyndal' last='Richardson'], who were impressive. Audrey Evenson is an incoming 2029 guard who did some nice things. As the game went on, she became more confident and assertive.

******

Eureka: The Wildcats have a primary senior group, and they all follow the lead of point guard [player_tooltip player_id='493365' first='Mia' last='Cuneio'] She not only runs the show and distributes the ball, but she was also on a heater from 3-point range in the game against Webster Groves. She can really play. 5'10 2026 Tessa Bauer is an athletic forward who can shoot the 3-pointer off the pick and pop and rebound the ball well. Caroline Conley is a 2027 guard who was good with her slashing drives to the basket.

********

Francis Howell: The Vikings were without a few of their key players on Saturday from their conference championship team. Two players who were present were the talented backcourt of 2028 [player_tooltip player_id='990371' first='Veronica' last='Simmons'] and 2026 [player_tooltip player_id='409884' first='Amya' last='Porchia']. Simmons is one of the most talented young guards in the state. She has quickness and blow by ability and she was also knocking down 3-pointers. Porchia is a very nice 3-point shooter who can also handle the offensive in an effective way.
