Mid-Atlantic Jam Fest: Saturday’s Gr8 Eight

Teams from New Jersey and Pennsylvania competed across six courts all under one roof. Madison did a great job both scoring and defending inside and out. Strong box-outs; battled on the boards against taller opponents. Aggressive weak-side rebounding today. She broke apart plays and denied post-entry passes; when defending up top, she was disruptive in the passing lanes. She played with a nice combination of pace and patience; didn't get ahead of the play or try to rush things. Emerging handles and step-back from 12-15 feet. Confident 3-point shooting with zero hesitation to pull the trigger. She committed to playing defense and did a nice job picking up opponents at half-court and applying some pressure. I tallied double-digit rebounds for her vs the Shoreshots. She's developing a really nice step-through move to get off shots near the basket. She looked to attack from the wing and expand her versatility. Strong dribble penetration and a great job finishing with her left. Very vocal and passionate. She was at her very best in transition and off the bounce. She showed off some solid footwork and spins maneuvering inside. Committed on-ball D; locked in guarding the perimeter. Nice pop from the elbow; a shot that could very well develop into her bread &amp; butter. Rock solid two-way game; kept her focus on the ball which resulted in a handful of steals. She took on the role of a leader; vocal yet calm. Not easily moved off her base; sturdy positioning when boxing out. Her length caused big problems for District One, especially in the paint.
