OBU Team Camp: Final Notes

Juliana is a guard that fits great in a 3 to 4 guard system to the fact that she can shoot and move without the ball. Due to her shooting ability defenses that play a no catch on her will find out she does a great job of reading the overplay for backdoor cut scoring opportunities. A uptempo guard that fills the lanes on the break or pushes the tempo as the ball handler. Quick guard on defense that looked tough in the Newcastle press. Good footwork in the post area with rockers, up/unders and a nice over the shoulder move. Quick defense footwork allows to play a half defense on the post and still slide around to get the deflection or steal. Showed good help defensive rotation on the baseline drives closing up the driving lane. Slasher type player that cuts back door and is always moving looking for the open gap. A shooter that is ready to go on the catch not needing much space to get the release off. Brings an aggressive all out hustle effort on defense that creates turnovers. A 2028 that due to an injury will miss the rest of Live Period. Handled the ball in the press breaker with good vision up the floor. Good change of speed on the dribble that allowed her to use the size advantage to turn the corners. Strong downhill drives that did not mind the contact for the old fashioned 3 point play. Tough defender that does not give up the angles on direct drives. Good hands that is able to grab the ball when the pass is little off. Good footwork in the post area doing most of the work before the pass is made. Quick enough as a power post to still allow the Lady Wolves to apply the full court pressure. High percentage shot in the paint area due to a soft shot off the glass. Nice outside shot from 3 point area but is really in her environment when it is a downhill game. Great lift on the pull up jumper releasing at the top of the jump. Good handles in the open floor making good decisions with the ball. I liked the reads on the drives looking to score or kick out. Nice job rebounding the miss shots stealing offensive possessions with the put back. Understood help rotations resulting into changing the shot or block.
