2025 Super South Showcase: Best Post Players

Two positions that especially stood out from the four teams were the power forwards and centers. She showed that she was a great post defender. Against the [program_tooltip program_id='712975' first='TN' last='Hurricanes'] after one of her teammates got beat off the dribble she got into position and blocked a shot out of bounds. For her size she has good speed. This allows her to step out and be a solid defender against smaller wings and guards. This plus speed showed up for her on offense as well.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">In the same game against the Hurricanes, she attacked the left side of the basket from the high post, and some fancy footwork gave her a chance at and one-layup. On offense, she displayed a great post-up game. She was precise in what moves she did, choosing the ones that gave her the best chance to score.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>On defense she provided above average post up defense. The player she was guarding more time than not, either got blocked or had a heavily contested shot, if they chose to go at her by the basket. Furstenberg also displayed that she had a good feel for the game. Her fundamentals when grabbing rebounds is textbook. She keeps the ball high and immediately looks for an outlet. When she hits her outlet she does not stand around either. Her high-energy play style made an impact. Williams is a relentless rebounder and a relentless scorer. Meaning she can both rebound and finish tough shots in traffic. She displayed solid rebounding ability through the weekend and some advanced moves on offense. On one possession in the tournament, while driving down the lane, she hit a quick spin move that generated a look at a bucket.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The main thing that stands out about her is her hustle on the court. She never gives up on a play and is always giving it her all on the defensive end.
