There's been a couple articles lately featuring players that've been recognized in the recruiting space. There're others that merit some attention for what they bring to the table too. With all the content coming out, it's important to cover these types of topics. This discussion is an important one; these ladies are all treasured for what they do and would be great pickups for a program out there. If there was a question about underrated '26 guards in terms of recruitment, these would be 5 names to mention.

Mullin has great tools that allow her success. She's fast and controls the pace with prime offensive initiation abilities. The driving lanes she creates force the defense to react as she's attacking which allows her to also find open teammates. Her finishes at the rim show that she's comfortable putting up shots in the lane from various angles. What hasn't been mentioned is her defense though. She's stifling on this side of the ball. Cassidy can be tasked with a plethora of duties in any game, but that's no problem for this guard. Whether its isolation coverage, shading players to a side, face guarding or just being an overall pest in help, Mullin will come through.

A valiant competitor that makes her mark on both sides of the ball. The 2-way play from Nuttall provides great synergy and she can be regularly looked at as her team's unsung hero because of her resilient efforts. On the defensive side of the ball, Kaya will give her body up for the betterment of the team. It's not uncommon to see Kaya take a charge or be in a tie-up. She's regularly in the prime position to make something happen. Her propensity to give some form of aid should be mentioned too. Even though she can be an aggressive defender when needed, she has a poise about her on offense. This allows her to have a stabilized attack throughout the course of the game. The timely shots, connective passes and deep drives make her an important aspect in the team's approach.

[player_tooltip player_id='490488' first='Sophie' last='Gibbons'] (2026) | 5'6 Guard | Bay State Jags

Gibbons is a well-balanced guard that can play with anyone on the floor. She brings a sense of cohesiveness to lineups due to her ability to get players the ball where they need it and willingness to do whatever it takes as a defender. She can really give her team an edge. Her shot selection is also noteworthy; Gibbons has shown to be efficient from long-range. Sophie is one of those players that's instantly engaged after a made basket too. There're no second thoughts about what to do, she just brings into action. Her liveliness on this side of the ball can be annoying to players used to having space to operate freely.

[player_tooltip player_id='491826' first='Isabel' last='Grube'] (2026) | 5'9 SG | IBelieve

A long-range specialist that's always a threat is left open. The defense must pay attention to her, buts its hard because Isabel can be masked within the offense. She runs to her spots well, fills/replaces well on the perimeter and doesn't show to be overly eager to let shots off immediately. This initial patience is an overlooked quality of hers. As the offense progresses and/or as defense breaks down, playmakers find Grube in all the ideal spots. Her form is rhythmic plus she's consistent shooting through the release. Isabel doesn't waver in front of defenders either; she's not afraid to fire if it's deemed a quality look for her. The '26 marksman can be a lot to handle if underestimated. She adds a bunch of value through proper spacing and proficient long-range shot making ability.

Shell has a powerful base that can be a tough task to cover as she comes downhill. Mizan has great hesitation moves and with the developed long-range shot hitting from outside consistently, she can be a factor at any time. The defense she provides can be relied upon too. That strong frame of hers comes in handy deep in the trenches where things get awfully physical.
