If I'm calculating things correctly, [player_tooltip player_id='509225' first='Averie' last='Lower'] of North Tartan 17U EYBL was Day 1's EYBL leading scorer with over 22 PPG along with 3-4 SPG to also rank her within the Top 10 for the 17U division. Lower started off Day 1 hot for beyond the arc with her catch and shoot game. From there, it was easy sledding for Lower and Company who ended the day at 2-0 atop of their Pool play bracket. This NT team moves really well off the ball and a lot of them can shoot it from deep. That combination might just be good enough to take them far during bracket play

Ashlee Wilson led her AIA team with 23 big points in their victory on Friday afternoon. Wilson is playing up several grade levels but you'd never know but just watching her compete. She is extremely gifted on both ends of the floor as a scoring threat, a facilitator, a defensive stopper, and much more. That's why she already Feilds a handful of D1 offers going into this event. Wilson is going to be a house hold name in high school for years to come in Minnesota. She is someone where the sky is truly the limit at this point in time.

The Illinois [program_tooltip program_id='716192' first='Wolverinas' last=''] went 1-1 on Day 1 of Pool play. Someone that was a constant for them in both contests was CG/SF - [player_tooltip player_id='728003' first='Lily' last='Fisher']. Fisher scored around 15-17 points in both her teams contest today and she made some timely buckets when she needed to. Some buckets to keep her team in it for the most part. Offensively, Fisher had a nice bag but she can also kill with size next to the hoop with a smaller defender matched up. Defensively, her combination of size, athletic ability, and natural awareness help her stand out on that end. It also gives her the ability to switch in a lot of situations. Which is always a plus. It's going to get really interesting as we move into Saturday night. If [program_tooltip program_id='716192' first='Wolverinas' last=''] win against Kia Kurse they will secure the 2 seed in their bracket going into Saturday evening.

Not only did Aaliah Spaight kill it in her first two games today at the EYBL Nationals in the scoring department with 20.5 PPG she also was dishing out 5 APG to help her team to a 2-0 record with an average margin of victory of 17 PPG. Spaight's feel for the game, her difference in tempo while attacking is staggering to defenders and after that she blows by them for a simple finish or pass. This was the first Day I've ever seen Spaight and she did more than hold her own.
