Hype Her Hoops: The Big Dance - Sunday Standouts in the Post

There was solid size up front across the board at Hype Her Hoops: The Big Dance. Many things can be taught in the game of basketball, but one thing you cannot teach is size. The ladies below caught my eye and have very high ceilings. Not only do these prospects have ideal length, they also have exceptional mobility, versatility, and intensity.    Zyraeis is very nimble for her size, but also very powerful. She plays much bigger than her listed height. Opposing bigs cannot move her inside whatsoever. Elite footwork and a strong lower base. She finishes through contact and is a load to handle in the paint. One of the few bigs who actually BOXES OUT. Zyraeis dominated the offensive glass with several and1 putbacks. She understands post positioning and draw fouls with ease. Zyraeis also dominated in transition because she runs the floor and has great hands. You would never believe she was two years younger than her opposition if you watched her play on Sunday.     Jameise was easily one of the top rebounders in attendance. She attacks the glass with ferocity. Her inside presence altered several shots around the rim. She understands how to defend and contest without fouling. Jameise is a tough finisher inside and runs the floor very well. Mobile, strong, and explosive. She does the little things that may not show up in the box score. Quick hands and feet to effectively guard pick-n-rolls. Excellent off-ball awareness as a help defender. Stays engaged and keeps her head on a swivel! Her motor is very impressive when she is engaged. Jameise Stigler would be a reliable addition to several teams in need of frontcourt depth at the next level.     The potential is there for this young, versatile big. One trait that immediately stood out was how great of a screen setter Kenedy is. She consistently helped free up teammate, Gabby Gomez, leading to less double teams and more open shots. Her value as a pick-and-roll threat should not be taken lightly whatsoever. Despite playing up, Kenedy look very comfortable and made significant contributions to winning basketball. Kenedy is long and fluid, allowing her to cover tons of ground in the paint defensively. She plays within herself and routinely makes the right decisions offensively. Would love to see her be more aggressive as a scorer. Expect Kenedy to have a breakout sophomore season in high school hoops.     Ava is a walking double-double who plays her role to perfection. Dominant rebounder, particularly on the offensive glass. She is a load to handle in the paint. Uses her size and strength to her advantage. Ava understands how to gain rebounding leverage and post up effectively using her physical attributes. Very productive as a pick-n-roll player offensively. Ava has a fearless, relentless mentality to compliment her size and strength. She plays hard on both ends and should be on your radar immediately.     Ivana is an underrated prospect from SoCal for the 2026 class. She finishes well in traffic and attacks the boards. When she is engaged and locked in, Ivana is a nightmare to handle. She backs down from no one and has a tendency to get on a roll as an inside scorer if the defense doesn't adjust. Ivana is a menace on the glass and makes winning plays when they matter most.     Mackenzie was one of the more vocal players throughout the tourney. You could hear her calling out screens and communicating with other teammates. As dominate as she is inside, Mackenzie will also take and make the open jumper. She has range all the way to the 3pt line. Mackenzie is very light on her feet. This translates to the defensive end with several deflections. She uses her strength to her advantage in the post. Exceptional footwork and a soft touch around the basket. She showcased a nice stroke at the free throw line after being fouled when drawing double teams. Mackenzie made some nice passes out of double-teams as well.
