Last weekend, in Appleton, we had our third PGH Freshman Showcase. I enjoy seeing the new faces of high school basketball before the season, and plenty of players at the event will make their mark on the high school season this winter. Today, we're discussing all the players from Team Eight of the 5v5 portion of the event and highlighting what they brought to the floor. We'll keep this up until we wrap up all ten 5v5 teams that played at the Freshman Showcase.

[player_tooltip player_id='1225521' first='Kennedy' last='Konkol']

Konkol is a player who can do a little of everything on both ends of the floor. She is willing to be physical on both ends of the floor and be a force around the basket. She plays under control and doesn't get sped up when she's on the floor. I also love her ability to space the floor and knock down shots as a shooter.

[player_tooltip player_id='877581' first='Jordyn' last='Woods']

Woods was among the most impressive performers at the event in Appleton a few weekends ago. She is an athletic frontcourt prospect who can make extra-effort plays on both ends of the floor. She played through contact well and even showed more of her perimeter game than I'd seen from her in the past. She is also a player who brings energy to the floor and can change a game in the minutes she plays.

[player_tooltip player_id='1241162' first='Livia' last='Neumueller']

Neumueller impressed in the 3v3 portion of the event when I watched her play. She was an offensive force who created space with the ball in her hands, who made the right reads with it. She shot the ball well from the perimeter and had one of the better jab steps I've seen when she was in that 3v3 portion to start the event in Appleton.

[player_tooltip player_id='1311970' first='Maci' last='Van Ornum']

Van Ornum shot the ball well in the 3v3 portion of the event. She spaced the floor well and was willing to get her teammates involved on the offensive end of the floor. She can play either guard spot, but she does a solid job of finding ways to help her team excel on the offensive end of the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id='1309233' first='Stella' last='Lee']

Lee is a selfless player who doesn't need the ball in her hands to make plays. I thought she understood how to space the floor well. She will be a player who can fit into any group of players and find a way to help her team compete. Players who don't need the ball to help their team succeed are always underrated pieces to have on a roster.
