Last weekend, in Appleton, we had our third PGH Freshman Showcase. I enjoy seeing the new faces of high school basketball before the season, and plenty of players at the event will make their mark on the high school season this winter. Today, we're discussing all the players from Team Four of the 5v5 portion of the event and highlighting what they brought to the floor. We'll keep this up until we wrap up all ten 5v5 teams that played at the Freshman Showcase.

[player_tooltip player_id='1309035' first='Tessa' last='Tagliapietra']

The Grafton native is a skilled athlete who excels on both ends of the court. Tagliapietra is also a solid perimeter shooter who proved she can knock down shots from the three-point line. I was also impressed by her activity on the defensive end of the floor. She will have a solid career with the Black Hawks.

[player_tooltip player_id='889912' first='Nicole' last='Zetina Gutierrez']

iI loved the effort that Zetina Gutierrez put in around the basket. She had an edge to her game around the basket, and I thought she did an excellent job in the paint. She also did a solid job of getting downhill and attacking the basket when she had opportunities to do so. She was also a player who was consistently focused on the defensive end, which will help her be the best version of herself on that end of the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id='1229167' first='Adelyn' last='Horton']

Horton was a player who did a solid job playing through traffic. She protected the ball well and made the correct reads with the ball in her hands. I also thought that defenses had a hard time speeding her up and forcing her into mistakes on the offensive end of the floor. Horton also showed poise with the ball, got to the rim, and finished around the basket well.

[player_tooltip player_id='1276313' first='Allison' last='Charbonneau']

The McFarland native is a player whom I highlighted as one of the standouts in Appleton. Her athleticism helped her dominate most guards who attempted to stay in front of her. She got downhill whenever she wanted and put immense pressure on the backline of defenses. Her speed and power made her a challenging matchup for defenders, and that could make her an instant-impact player in the Badger-Small. I've seen her play for a few years, and as I said, I thought she played her basketball in Appleton, which is something that should excite a new coaching staff at McFarland.
