More than 80 competitors put their game on display Sunday in Maple Grove at the Prep Girls Hoops Sophomore ID Camp. We're doing two-part, team-by-team evaluations of all 10 rosters. Here are our thoughts on the players of Team 8, part 1.

Johnson was among the smoothest performers on the floor on Sunday, flashing elite talent and nice versatility. She uses her length and wingspan to great effect, elevating with ease on her jumper or blowing by defenders to the rim. Her high release makes her nearly impossible to contest, and she converts consistently off one or two dribbles. A disruptive defender, she anticipates, closes space, and takes away passing lanes. Explosive and confident, Johnson just has a knack for making big plays. A well-rounded, high-ceiling guard who impacts both ends.

Krenn may not be very big, but her quickness, anticipation, and craft make her incredibly effective. She constantly attacked and worked herself into steals, turning them into easy transition points. Calm and composed, she doesn't get rattled, instead playing with cleverness and effort that lift her team. After a summer where she poured in points week after week, Krenn's competitive fire and consistency stand out. Strong for her frame and relentless in spirit, she simply makes things happen every time she's on the floor.

De Los Reyes is an athletic, physical forward with length and strength, flashing plenty of raw potential that bodes well for the future. Kalia has the frame and tools to compete with top players, which she showed this summer play with Nia Hollie's top Stars 3SSB group. Although her skillset is still developing, Kalia's size and energy allow her to be effective defensively and on the boards. We think De Los Reyes may be an unpolished gem whose upside is significant if she continues to refine her tools.

Tieh is an athletic guard who caught our attention with her quick feet, quality handles, and “baller” persona. While still raw, she showed flashes of speed and aggressiveness that give her plenty of upside to consider. A relatively unknown player (at least to us) with little fanfare to draw on, Tieh was a true wild card. That's why events like the Sophomore ID Camp matter. What stood out on Sunday was her ability to play with confidence, even under the microscope of a scouting event. With time and experience, there's no telling how much better she can be.
