Class of 2027: Early Names to Watch for First Team All-State

The updated <a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/illinois/rankings/2027-watch-list/">2027 College Prospect Ranking</a>s are here, and with this class, things are starting to take shape. These are COLLEGE prospect rankings, meaning that OFFICIAL OFFERS carry significant weight in player movement. D1 and D2 offers usually land players near the top, while D3, NAIA, and JUCO prospects fall toward the latter part of the list.   High school or AAU accolades or stats DO NOT play a big role in this, simply due to the fact that the competitive level differs during both seasons. It's all about how a player projects at the next level. Things such as size, speed, height, versatility, positional fit, and overall athletic ability matter just as much as skill set. At this point, it's becoming clear which players will make an impact at their level of college and which ones are still developing into that role. The Watch List features a strong mix of D2/D3 to JUCO prospects still being evaluated.   Here are a few players who could have the kind of junior seasons that put them in First Team All-State talks.    London is securing a spot for first team all-state is more than likely a shoe-in. This kid has been one of the best players in the state regardless of her class, position, and anything else that differentiates the players here. She is aggressive on both ends, can score from wherever, and has the ability to lock down the best player on the court. This will be her second year at Freeport, and it won't be a shock if she has another individual exceptional year. (3A)     When it comes to dominating the high school game, Lilyan has been doing that since her freshman season. She is a crafty and aggressive scorer who can get it going at any time. Most importantly, she helps win games for her program, which could definitely lead to some all-state votes. Another big season is ahead for her. (1A)     Leonard will be back in full action this year for Lake Zurich, and after the strong summer she had, it's not a stretch to think that will carry over to the high school scene. She's a natural playmaker but can be a focal point for points if it's asked of her. She'll no doubt be one of the best players in her conference, but could be one of the best players in her state class as well. (4A)     Wardle knows what it feels like to be part of one of the best teams in the state and one of the best players leading it. With everything she brings to the floor, it's hard to imagine this group losing many games, even with jumping up a class. Emy will be the one driving it all, and seeing her on the first team list wouldn't surprise anyone. (3A)     Fisher has the skillset of a D1 player, and there's truly not much she can't do from an offensive standpoint. She's naturally a player who likes to get everyone around her going, but has the dominant switch that she can turn on to get things done herself. She plays tough, but smooth, and can truly average a double-double, and more than likely get a couple triple triple-doubles this season as well. (4A)
