As the #1 seed, Glen Rock cruised to their first sectional title since 2013 in North 1 Group 2 before getting run out of the gym in a 43-21 loss to Madison in the Group 2 semifinals. The good news is Glen Rock only lost one senior and is a heavy favorite to repeat as sectional champs and get to the Group 2 State Championship game. In losing steals leader Emily McKegney, Glen Rock lost it's defensive stopper on the perimeter and 10% of their 3-point scoring, 15% of their points, 12% of their rebounding, 19% of their assists and 38% off their steals. However, they bring back a veteran core of 6 seniors led by, Swarthmore commit, senior [player_tooltip player_id='601348' first='Mia' last='Vergel De Dios'] who was 2nd on the team in 3-pointers, 1st in scoring and assists, 2nd in rebounding and steals and tied for 4th in blocks. She should get her 1,000th career point in her senior year. Other major contributors include, Emory commit, senior [player_tooltip player_id='871420' first='Abby' last='Grove'] (2nd in scoring, 1st in rebounds, 3rd in assists, tied for 1st in blocks and 4th in steals), junior Isabella Flaccavento (3rd in 3-pointers, 4th in scoring, 4th in assists and 3rd in steals), senior Anna Heuss (1st in 3-pointers, 5th in rebounds, 5th in assists, tied for 4th in blocks and 5th in steals), junior Ana Landreau (5th in scoring, 4th in rebounds and 3rd in blocks) and sophomore Madison Wise (5th in rebounds and tied for 1st in blocks). Westwood, Leonia and Ramsey should provide the competition in this section.

Coming off back to back sectional championships and two trips to the Group 2 State Championship game, this will be a new look Madison team in 2025-2026. Perhaps no sectional champ from the North has been gutted by graduation more than Madison. They lost 2,400 point scorer and 1,100 rebound star, American University freshman Charlotte Tuhy as well as 3 other seniors. This quartet accounted for 77% of their 3-point scoring, 79% off their points, 71% of their rebounds, 74% of their assists, 80% of their blocks and 71% of their steals. Looking to step into larger roles after contributing last season are junior Samantha Nielsen (4th in rebounds, 4th in assists, 3rd in blocks and 3rd in steals), junior Siena Notaro (tied for 2nd in 3-pointers, 4th in scoring and 5th in assists), senior Enya Callaghan (tied for 5th in blocks), and junior Caitlin Weller (5th in 3-pointers and 5th in steals). Madison will have an uphill battle chasing down last year's #1 seed Caldwell who returns their entire team from last season.
