SuperChamps Pre Season Play Day

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Memphis basketball leagues have come to an end. Now we are heading into Middle School basketball season. Middle School season doesn't officially start until later this month. However, there are several Play Days scheduled to help teams prepare.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I attended the morning group of girls games at the SuperChamps Pre Season Play Day on Saturday. Thirteen teams participated. <br><br>The game of the day for me was a great match up between Ridgeway and MHEA.&nbsp;Both teams looked as if they were in mid season form the way they switched their defenses up in full court and half court. My first time I saw her play she was on fire behind the 3 point line. Then during the rest of the league, she mainly played in the post. With her school team, she runs the point. Speaking to her coach, she was a post last season and he is transitioning her to a guard this season. She is a high motor player with a long frame, pull up shot and 3 range. One of the initiators of that defense was Shiane. She is a very aggressive and scrappy defender. She played the top of their zone defense and on the point guard. She really shined in the middle getting several steals. Milania is a player that was constantly talking to her teammates defensively helping them get their assignments.
