The 2025-26 AIA season kicks off in one week from today. Some usual suspects will lead their teams very far into the playoffs and I want to look at some players who will help their teams get back who will potentally breakout this season.

Potential Breakout Prospects

[player_tooltip player_id='754705' first='Ashley' last='Shaw'] McClintcok

The Chargers have a lot of size but they will need someone to give them the ball and Shaw will definitely be that player. She is a true floor general and will most likely lead them to a lot of wins. She has advanced court vision and sees plays developing quickly and has real quickness to get downhill with a burst and a jumper to keep the defense honest.

[player_tooltip player_id='925238' first='Corri' last='Jones'] Williams Field

A high motored two-way power forward will dominate the glass and defends players from inside and out. She will take on the biggest players on the court and then switch on a guard. She runs the court for transition buckets and will score it on the glass with offensive rebound put backs plus hit from elbow and in.

[player_tooltip player_id='755552' first='Naliyah' last='Guidry'] Mesquite

Her older sister dominated the last few years on varsity and graduated. I believe Naliyah will get her chance on varsity this season to contribute. She is fast and very quick on the ball defensively. She can shoot it from the perimeter plus drive the lane with her speed.

[player_tooltip player_id='755554' first='Trece' last='Tsingine'] Tuba City

With four seniors graduating, Trece has scored more and more every season so far. This year I can see her getting past 10+ ppg. She has good size to get downhill, advanced court vision to make players around him better and score it from mid to the three point line. She will also defend multiple positions.

[player_tooltip player_id='1144067' first='Abby' last='Rice'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1144065' first='Triniti' last='Terracciano'] North Valley Christian Academy (Pictured)

I feel this is the year that NVCA breaks though led by their tough junior duo of Rice and Terracciano. Abby obviously has great size and can control the glass but she has great skill and court awareness to make plays and shoot it from elbow and in. Triniti is a quick on quick defensive menace who can collect steals in bunches plus scores it well getting downhill with next level speed.

[player_tooltip player_id='1121674' first='Kaitlyn' last='Christensen'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1257089' first='Millie' last='Ahlstrom'] Mountain View Mesa

A good sized wing forward was honorable mention last year in the 6A East Valley and look for her to earn an All-Region nomination this year with her all-around play. She can score it with downhill takes thru the contact using her size, get on the glass and score with offensive rebound put backs and hit the three. Kaitlyn and [player_tooltip player_id='1257089' first='Millie' last='Ahlstrom'] will be scary duo. Millie is a talented scoring lead guard who can rattle in deep jumpers and plays smartly off of the pick and roll game.
