Devin’s State Title Predictions: Class 2A

<p>With the season beginning very soon, here are my state title contenders in the 2A class. I will also be predicting each classes state champion in these series of articles.</p>

<p><strong><em>Class 2A:</em></strong></p>

<p>Lynden won the state title last season and have been frequently one of the top teams in the 2A class for the past couple seasons. With their two best players and future Division 1 players back, they will once again contend. Ellensburg got 2nd place last year, only losing in the state championship game but with losing 6 players and many of them being key aspects, it could be a new look team. Deer Park placed 3rd and will be losing some key pieces but with big names players coming back and them only losing to Ellensburg, they will contend again. Archbishop-Murphy finished 4th and Brooke Blachley is a player who can lead her team far.</p>

<p><strong>Lynden</strong>: [player_tooltip player_id='676258' first='Finley' last='Parcher'] and [player_tooltip player_id='584239' first='Payton' last='Mills'] will be returning and that is all that matters for the Lions. Those two will likely play Division 1 basketball, with Mills already going to University of Hawaii after this year. They will have other key players who will hit shots and play tough defense but there is no better duo in the state aside from Parcher and Mills.</p>

<p><strong>Deer Park:</strong> Deer Park only lost 1 game as i mentioned last year and with [player_tooltip player_id='928125' first='Ashlan' last='Bryant'], [player_tooltip player_id='663650' first='Emma' last='Bryant'], and Jacey Bossell coming back this season they will be a problem. Ashlan and Emma are a great duo in the backcourt, playing off each other well and being able to get other teammates involved. They have players who can pick up slack well when others are struggling to get buckets. </p>

<p><strong>Archbishop-Murphy</strong>: The Wildcats will only be losing 2 seniors from last years team so them contending for a state title is likely. [player_tooltip player_id='515021' first='Brooke' last='Blachly'] is a 3 level scorer and someone who can get her teammates involved with ease. The surrounding players around Brooke stand out too, doing their jobs and being players who can fill in smoothly and be a powerful squad as a whole. </p>
