Quarterly, Prep Girls Hoops Indiana releases its updated rankings for each class. Thursday, we released our Fall Update for the Class of 2026. There was some slight movement throughout the Top 125, in addition to several new additions to the watch list, as we added 27 prospects to what already existed. Below is a look at the prospects currently listed with the point guard position as their primary position.

BREAKOUT CANDIDATES:
[player_tooltip player_id='832666' first='Makaylee' last='Butts'], 2026, 5-3 PG, Avon H.S.
- Makaylee has a couple years of Varsity experience under her belt already, and while playing alongside Aniah Smith (21.0p & 22.6p the last two years) took some pressure off Makaylee, it also limited opportunities to have the ball in her hands. This season, I would expect Makaylee to take on more of a leadership role, as she was very aggressive and played well throughout the Summer. She could easily take her averages of 8.9p and 8.1p the last two years and easily jump into double-digits scoring it, but I also think she'll have more opportunities to facilitate.

[player_tooltip player_id='486525' first='Elle' last='Jo Johnson'], 2026, 5-4 PG, North Posey H.S.
- Elle Jo has been a Varsity regular for North Posey, and they have played a rather balanced group of players recently. However, their main go-to, if they even had one, has graduated. With Elle Jo being a primary ball-handler, and with her ability to knock down open rhythm jumpers, I could see her increasing her productivity from 6.6p, 2.2r, 1.9a, and 2.0s in 2024-2025 to something closer to 12 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals per game as a Senior this season. I also think she's an undervalued small college prospect.

[player_tooltip player_id='1256524' first='Nina' last='Whitehead'], 2026, 5-4 PG, North Central H.S. (Indianapolis)
- Nina has earned her share of Varsity minutes for a fairly balanced Lady Panther team in the past, but this season I could see her really breaking out. They have nice guards in the 2027 class, but Nina is a little more creative off the dribble, and she has nice range to 25-feet. She does a great job with her quick first step of getting defenders off-balance, then finding separation to get her shot away. I would expect her to be in the mix for the Lady Panthers, if not elevate her play to the point of averaging 10 points and 4 assists per game.

ON THE RISE:
[player_tooltip player_id='486492' first='Ailie' last='Taylor'], 2026, 5-5 PG, Princeton Community H.S.
- I was extremely impressed with Ailie's play throughout the grassroots season this Spring & Summer. In the past, I felt like she was more of a scorer or scoring point guard, but she was great with the ball this year, she found open teammates consistently, and she lessened her turnovers quite a bit. She's still a very good perimeter shooter who can create space, and she's a strong downhill attacker who can get North/South quickly. I also appreciate her toughness and effort defensively. I think several Midwestern small colleges could use her services.

[player_tooltip player_id='486538' first='Trinity' last='Wilburn'], 2026, 5-5 PG, McCutcheon H.S.
- As I've noted many times in the past, Trinity has struggled with injuries throughout her high school career. Finally, during the 2024-2025 high school season, there was a breakthrough, and she is stacking months of consistent and improving play on top of each other. Throughout the Spring & Summer, you could see her getting better from month to month and even weekend to weekend. By July, she started to look much more explosive like her old self, and she drew more and more college interest because of it. She should have a nice Winter this year.

[player_tooltip player_id='486523' first='Ella' last='Williams'], 2026, 5-10 PG, Washington H.S.
- Ella has always been a "fan favorite" of mine because of her potential, and this Winter she could very well be the playmaker for the Lady Hatchets. Washington is loaded with upperclassmen, and they have some talented scorers. But at 5-10, Ella's fluid athleticism and ability to make plays off the bounce for others really stands out. It is hard to trap her because she can see over them, and she can find people in traffic because of where her level of vision is. If she can make that jump and be consistent at the point, the Hatchets will be that much better for it.

NEW TO THE SCENE:
[player_tooltip player_id='885310' first='Aubrey' last='Hall'], 2026, 5-4 PG, Perry Meridian H.S.
- Here is what I know about Aubrey...last season, she missed a number of games for the Falcons, and they fell apart at times without her. She might not be the tallest or most dynamic point guard prospect, but she is vitally important to her school team, and she always competes and plays with great energy. She is steady on the ball, finds teammates willingly, but she can also knock down an open jumper and attack the basket to create offense. Defensively, she is scrappy, aggressive, and she's willing to rebound at her size. I think she has a lot of small college value.

[player_tooltip player_id='1357838' first='Laney' last='Musall'], 2026, 5-7 PG, North Miami H.S.
- I had Laney's name in my database for a while, but it wasn't until this Spring & Summer on the grassroots circuit that I was finally able to see her in action, and she is very intriguing. She has a solid to strong frame, some length, and she always plays hard. She takes care of the ball well, gets it where it needs to go, and she doesn't force the action or make silly mistakes. She is the perfect type of game-managing point guard prospect who can go into some small college situations and give them stability off the bench. She just makes smart decisions.
