MLK Invitational Tournament: Snowden

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This is actually my second time seeing Snowden play. I attended their very first game of the season at home. Some of the player's roles has changed slightly since I first saw them.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>What I learned about Snowden - They have a stingy full court defense. During Day 1 of the MLK, Faith was in early foul trouble and had to sit for the bulk of the game. However, in the first game of the season, I saw that she is a big part of Snowden's game plan. When you have a player that's over 6'0 and towers over everyone else, you get her their ball and that's what Snowden does.&nbsp; I'm even more impressed with her abilities on the defensive end especially in the press. In the first game of the season, Kadence was unstoppable on the boards. I had charted her unofficially with 10 rebounds. During Day 1 of the MLK, she didn't reach the double digit mark for rebounds. However, she showed the level of athleticism she has when she went up to catch a high pass at the high post area. When I watched Zoe in the first game, she was playing off the ball. During Day 1 of the MLK , she played a good part of the game in the point guard spot. She is very quick with and without the ball. During the Fall Leagues, I saw Paige play more of the point guard role. At Snowden, her role is more of a wing player. With her length and anticipation skills, she plays like a safety in the press. I charted her with at least 3 defensive rebounds. With her ball handling abilities, she can get the rebound, lead the transition and find teams for transition buckets. She can also score. I have primarily seen Isabella as the point guard, during the Fall League and in Snowden's first game of the season. During Day 1 of the MLK, she played off the ball some. Snowden has added a couple of plays, since I last saw them, that's designed to get the ball to Isabella. I can understand why. In their first game in the season, I had charted her unofficially with 29 points. She is a scorer that can knock down the corner 3, wing 3, and floater pull up. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
