My last articles of the month will be about some more players who've had standout starts to the high school season. We've highlighted a handful of impactful players over the first week of the high school season, and we'll wrap up the month doing the same thing. Let's discuss some players who've earned recognition to start the 2025-26 season.

Marissa Mehlhorn

The Manitowoc Lutheran guard is a talented playmaker who can get downhill and make plays around the basket. She has solid length and can finish over the top of most guards who will defend her once she gets into the paint. Mehlhorn is also a skilled ball handler who can beat her initial defender off the dribble and force defenders to collapse on her when she gets into the paint. She will be a player who can make an impact at a regional program at the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='1220487' first='Braelyn' last='Chevalier']

Chevalier is a player who can be placed into any team and find ways to help them win in various ways. The Kewaunee guard is a player who can space the floor and can score when her team needs her to put the ball in the basket. However, what she does even better than scoring is defending. The Storm guard is an active defender who moves her feet well on the perimeter and can use her lateral quickness to make plays on opposing guards defensively.

Jill Pinno

The Winnebago Lutheran forward is a versatile forward who has made plays on both ends of the court around the basket. Pinno had a double-double against Kiel at their gym and showed that she could finish around the basket at a high level. I also liked her ability to use her length to grab rebounds above a crowd and clear her team's defensive lines. There is something in her game that will help her garner attention from coaches at the next level.

Stella Zank

Zank is an intriguing small-school prospect from Augusta. She is an intriguing junior who can space the floor and knock down shots from beyond the three-point line. She is a confident shooter who understands the space she needs to get her shot off and can knock down multiple perimeter shots in a game. However, I also love the edge she plays with around the basket and uses her physicality to carve out space to rebound on both ends of the court.
