Score: Mountain Ridge 58 - Alta 46

Alta's three-guard lineup performed just as expected, with [player_tooltip player_id='789082' first='Olivia' last='Stephens'], Alia Baldassano, and [player_tooltip player_id='796804' first='Quincy' last='Kegel'] accounting for all but five of their points. What came as more of a surprise was how heavily Mountain Ridge leaned on their size advantage. [player_tooltip player_id='796847' first='Jessica' last='Maynard'] dominated in the post and finished with nearly half of her team's total points, making her interior presence the most decisive factor of the night. The rest of the Mountain Ridge roster offered limited scoring support, but with Jessica as efficient and impactful as she was, they didn't need much else to stay in control.

Jessica dominated both ends of the floor. For Alta, the challenge was finding someone who could body her up and slow her down — and few could. She dropped 28 points, most coming from quick catch-and-finishes around the rim, where her timing and release were nearly impossible to defend. Defensively, she took on Alta's top guard, using her length and lateral quickness to force high-arching, low-percentage shots. From start to finish, she was the difference-maker and the clear standout of the night.

Olivia showed immediately that she's a legitimate threat. Her quick-release threes kept Alta in it early, and her ball-handling showed she can get out of a defensive tight position. She created space, used her speed to attack gaps, and forced Mountain Ridge to build its defensive plan around slowing her down. She led Alta in all points for the night at 19, including four 3-pointers.

[player_tooltip player_id='884192' first='Megan' last='Johnson'] came off the bench for Alta and was impactful throughout several moments of the night. She was often part of a defensive disruption and knows how to draw the foul when the ball is in her hands.

Isabelle plays much bigger than her size might suggest. She was grabbing boards all night and held her own in the paint. She was part of the duo tasked with shutting down Maynard, and she battled effectively despite the size disparity. Her toughness and willingness to take on physical assignments make her a valuable defensive asset for Alta.

Kaylee was the other major contributor for Mountain Ridge, putting up the other significant share of their points. What stood out most was her willingness to close out hard defensively, even at the risk of picking up a foul. It paid off — she walked away with steals, jump balls, and forced mistakes. She's quick on her feet, anticipates well, and has a strong sense of where the ball is going. With that kind of defensive instinct and confidence, she'll continue to be a key factor in big games.
