Team Preseason Coverage: Lake Center Christian Lady Tigers

The Lake Center Christian Lady Tigers return for their 2025-26 season with a young, up-and-coming team looking to improve each day as they continue to rebuild their program. Lake Center Christian came off a 2024-25 season in which they had two wins against Medina Christian Academy and Christian Community, their final season playing in the Portage Trail Conference. Head Coach Mike Treen has spent the last two years rebuilding the program and returns a number of intriguing prospects that look to make big strides this 2025-26 season.   Key Returning Players:    Treen is an aggressive physical forward who is capable of finishing with either hand inside the paint. She has a strong post game and uses her body well to fight and create initial position for post up opportunities. She sets strong screens and roles with a purpose setting up teammates with herself and teammates for open looks. Treen also demonstrates versatility as a forward being able to handle the ball as a play initiator. Her versatile skillset allows the Tigers to use her as a ball handler exposing mismatches on the perimeter. She is very capable of running the floor and finishing with strength in transition. Treen is gearing up to have a big junior year in 2025-26 as one of the key leaders for the Tigers.     Dauphin is a confident ball handler and driver with the ball in her hands. She understands how to create her own shot as well as create for others. She is also demonstrates good balance and body control finishing around the rim. Defensively, she displays active feet and uses her length to be disruptive in the gaps. Dauphin looks to use her height and ball handling to make big impacts on both ends this season for the Tigers.     Kane provides a unique skillset for her size and height. She is a quick lengthy forward who can finish through contact with either hand around the basket. Kane is a stellar rebounder-and-run forward who looks for leak-outs and easy opportunities to score at the rim in transition. She displays correct footwork and balance finishing through contact inside. Kane is also capable of extending her range, hitting the midrange jump shot when left open. Defensively, she uses her length and frame to be disruptive pressuring shooters on closeouts. She is excellent at contesting shots and finishing the play with a boxout and rebound. Kane is looking forward to having a big sophomore year for the Tigers as she continues to grow and expand her game.     Craig is one of the Tigers best guard defenders. She seeks opportunities to defend the opponent's best player and displays a high motor pressuring the ball along the perimeter. As the Tigers secondary ball handler, she is more than capable of initiating the offense setting her teammates up with timely passes. She is continuing to grow as a finisher both around the rim and as a shooter. Craig plays the game with a level of joy and enthusiasm that is contagious to her teammates looking to impact the game on both ends this season for the Tigers.    New 2029 Players to Watch:    Shelly is the new primary point guard for the Tigers this 2025-26 season. Shelly is clearly the team's best perimeter shooter displaying strong shot mechanics from deep. Despite her size, she is a confident facilitator and floor general. She demonstrates a high basketball IQ for her age seeing the floor well and setting her teammates up with timely passes. She is very coachable and has quickly jelled showing strong chemistry with her new high school teammates. Shelly looks to be a key leader in a big freshman class for the Tigers.     Sommers is a energic freshman shooting guard who plays the game with joy and a high motor on both ends of the floor. She demonstrates good defensive instincts as a pressure defender forcing pickups and challenging the opposing ball handler. Sommer possesses a good shot form for her age shooting the ball with confidence from deep. Sommers is another standout freshman guard looking to grow and showcase her skillsets on both ends of the floor for the Tigers this 2025-26 season.
