It was a battle of experience vs. youth in the first semifinal as a veteran St. Charles West team took on a Whitfield team that is full of talented freshmen. For three quarters, it was the youthful Warriors that controlled the game as they took a 36-25 lead into the fourth quarter. St. Charles West started the fourth quarter on an 11-0 run to tie the score. The two teams battled on even terms for the rest of the game.

St. Charles West took a 47-46 lead with 11 seconds left when 2026 guard [player_tooltip player_id='1316666' first='Miley' last='Jackson'] penetrated into the lane and dished it off to 2027 forward [player_tooltip player_id='1308693' first='Zoey' last='Hollander'] for the layup. Whitfield had a chance to win it, but a last second 3-pointer missed the mark and top-seeded West came away with the dramatic come-from-behind victory.

Here is look at some of the key players from the St. Charles West-Whitfield game.

St. Charles West

Alex Nicasto: The 6'1" 2026 SIUE recruit scored a game-high 18 points. She is a matchup problem with her height and versatile skill set. She made multiple 3-pointers off the catch and she could also attack off the dribble. She hit a nifty spin dribble and step back 3-pointer that was nice. She also went inside to score in the post and she asserted herself on the offensive boards to get putbacks.

[player_tooltip player_id='1316666' first='Miley' last='Jackson']: The 5'8" 2026 point guard scored 15 points, but 11 of those came in the second half when she really asserted herself on the offensive end. She went into attack mode and it was a big factor in the Warriors coming back from its deficit. She hit a big 3-pointer to cut the 11 point lead to eight points, which jump-started the rally. She also set up the winning points with a nice dime off of her dribble penetration.

[player_tooltip player_id='1308693' first='Zoey' last='Hollander']: The 6'1" 2027 forward scored seven points, including the game winner in the closing seconds. She has good strength, which she showed with a good seal and catch for a layup. She also passes the ball well from the high post. She zipped the ball to cutting teammates for layups.

Whitfield:

[player_tooltip player_id='1279155' first='Addison' last='Odom']: The 5'6" 2029 point guard scored a team-high 17 points. She really took over on the offensive end in the second half when she scored 14 points. She was quick and strong enough to attack and score on straight-line drives. She could also create off the dribble as she knocked perimeter jumpers after her nifty escape moves. She also impacts the game on the defensive end. She guards the opposing team's top player. She also plays the passing lanes very well.

[player_tooltip player_id='1303894' first='Kristina' last='Margraf']: A 5'5" 2029 point guard who scored eight points before fouling out in the fourth quarter. Losing her late in the game hurt the Warriors because she is an excellent ball handler and shooter. She hit a pair of 3-pointers in the first half. She has good handles and an overall nice feel for the game. She is an excellent passer who makes good decisions.

[player_tooltip player_id='854598' first='Fallon' last='Jones']: A 6'0" 2027 forward who scored eight points, which most of them coming after halftime. She sat much of the first half with foul trouble, but she had a big impact in the second half. She has good athleticism and a nice shooting touch from 12 to 15 feet. She also had an impressive rim run to score on an offensive putback.

Kayli McGee-Williams: A 5'10" 2026 forward who played limited minutes off the bench, but I really liked what she brought to the team. Her assignment was to rebound and play physical inside and she did both very well. She was grabbing rebounds in traffic and getting extra possessions for her team. She even scored on an offensive putback. I was impressed by her multiple hustle plays.

The second semifinal game was a repeat of the first one as it was North Point that mounted the big rally in the fourth quarter. The Grizzlies held St. Dominic scoreless in the fourth quarter and tied the game at 40-40. But with five seconds left in regulation, St. Dominic had the ball and they went to their top player [player_tooltip player_id='777628' first='Peyton' last='Roberts']. The 5'9" 2027 guard dribbled the length of the court and scored on a runner as time expired to give the Crusaders a 42-40 victory and a berth in the championship game.

Here is a look at the key players from the St. Dominic-North Point game

St. Dominic

[player_tooltip player_id='777628' first='Peyton' last='Roberts']: The 5'9" 2027 guard scored a team-high 13 points, which included the dramatic game-winner. She is an excellent athlete with good positional size and the ability to shoot the 3-pointer. She is also a very effective slashing threat on the move.

[player_tooltip player_id='777611' first='Chloe' last='Koepke']: The 5'10" 2027 guard scored eight points on the evening. She drained a pair of 3-pointers in the first half which helped stake the Crusaders to its advantage. She came off the curt screen and hit one of them with good elevation on her shot.

Ashley Monitor: The 5'9" 2026 forward added 12 points for the winners. She is a good athlete who was very good off the drive and also effective off the ball with her movement.

North Point

[player_tooltip player_id='1133677' first='Morgan' last='Robinson']: The 5'10" 2027 forward scored a team-high 14 points and was easily the most physical player that I watched in the two games. She really came on strong in the fourth quarter when the Grizzlies mounted their rally. She owned the boards and she was powering her way for buckets in traffic. She also had a blocked shot that had so much force that she slammed the player to the floor without fouling.

Brooklyn Moore: The 2027 shooting guard scored 12 points and she did it in a smooth, unassuming manner. She goes at her own speed and she could not be hurried. She had a nice shooting stroke from 3-point range coming off the screen. She also used the shot fake or a quick first step to beat defenders off the dribble for the short jumper.

[player_tooltip player_id='1235013' first='Olivia' last='Christopher']: The 2026 guard scored 11 points while displayed a nice shot from 3-point range. She made three triples during the game. She shoots it well off the catch in the rhythm. She also pulled up for an old-school one-legged runner in the lane.
