Latest Northeast Ohio 2026 Weekly Standouts

The week of December 7-12 Prep Girls Hoops covered a number of stellar matchups and games throughout the Northeast Ohio region. There are a handful of old and new names that have been added to our list as we continue to build our coverage and presence in Northeast Ohio. Here is the recap of the class of 2026 prospects that caught our eyes and stood out throughout our week of coverage!    Montgomery is an electric senior guard who makes a huge impact for the Wildcats on both ends of the floor. She is a fierce competitor who invites the challenge to play both inside the paint and on the perimeter. Despite her size, she has a physical frame and play style that allows her to carve out position to score in the post. Montgomery is not afraid of letting it fly from deep either as she possesses a pure and confident stroke from behind the arc. She plays both ends with physicality and a very high motor! Montgomery enjoys taking on the scoring responsibility for her team and being the offensive engine for the Lady Wildcats!     The Canton McKinley Lady Pups wouldn't be 6-2 without the steady offensive output that Taylor brings on a game-to-game basis! There really isn't a shot she can't hit as she has the ability to completely take over a game with her shot creation! Taylor is elite at winning her matchup as she uses her quickness and natural scoring touch to be a consistent scorer in the lane. She has the supreme confidence to rise and fire knocking down three-pointers from deep! Taylor's competitive nature and work ethic on both ends is the driving force for Canton McKinley's success in a very competitive Federal League Conference in Northeast Ohio. There is no question that Taylor has the work ethic and complete offensive game to be a scoring threat at the college level!     Now playing her senior year for the Canton McKinley Lady Pups, Carter is an all-around reliable interior presence in the paint! Carter is an elite rebounder who uses her length and natural motor to dominate the glass. With her size and physical presence, there isn't a matchup that she can't win! She impressed with her ability to collect offensive rebounds and go up strong through contact. Carter also proved that teams shouldn't foul her late as she has the ability to knock down her free throws. In just her short time at McKinley, she has established a strong chemistry with [player_tooltip player_id='894221' first='Mya' last='Taylor'] and the offense. There is no doubt in my mind that Carter has a big future and one that includes playing at the next level!     Now playing her senior year for the Canton McKinley Lady Pups, Chester is another reliable inside presence for Canton McKinley! Chester has a strong frame and ability to finish through contact in the paint. She has good footwork and the ability to rise and fire from the midrange as well. Chester has a very high motor, which she demonstrates on both ends of the floor. It will be a joy to continue to follow her development during her senior season now with the Lady Pups!     Fisher is a tall and lengthy inside post presence for the Lady Vikings. She is elite at finishing with either hand through contact around the basket. Fisher is a complete paint beast scoring inside! She plays with a very high motor and loves competing for offensive rebounds. As a defense you can not foul her in the paint being she is a free throw magnet! Fisher is the tall and lengthy inside presence the Lady Vikings need as they battle in the very competitive and tough Federal League Conference in Northeast Ohio!     There are not many players that I have seen that play with as much fire and competitive drive as [player_tooltip player_id='905839' first='Zoe' last='McCort']! Plain and simple, McCort wants to win and is willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done! She is a highly skilled shooter who competes with relentless energy on the offensive end. McCort is also an outstanding passer with an elite feel for the game knowing where the ball needs to go and getting it there fast! Defensively, she is a pressure defender who never takes a play off! You always know where she is because she never stops talking and being active on the gaps. McCort is the engine that drives the Lady Vikings on both ends of the floor with her relentless energy and three-level scoring!     Zampedro is the primary point guard for the Lady Cougars. She is a very capable play initiator getting the ball where it needs to go! Zampedro impressed showing her extended range, knocking down a deep three-pointer. She demonstrates a pure and consistent stroke from deep and at the free throw line. Zampedro is someone you want at the line late in tight games. No doubt, she is the senior leader for the Lady Cougars!     Shulz is an active and lengthy guard who loves to attack and get involved on the offensive end. She loves to attack in transition and invites contact when going to the basket. Shulz demonstrates that she is very coachable on both ends and of the floor and knows when to pull up for her jumpshot! Shulz is the type of shooter you need when the game is tight and you need a big shot.     Graham is the primary point guard for the Panthers who loves to facilitate and lead the offensive attack for Norton! She is elite at handling full court pressure in the backcourt and getting the ball up the court to set up the offense. Graham understands that her team relies on her to score as she look to attack the basket every opportunity she gets. She has a pure shooting stroke from deep and has high basketball IQ to know to when to pull for her shot! Graham is also very coachable and a pressure defender who looks for steals and opportunities to get out and run in the fastbreak. She has a complete offensive game for a point guard knows when to attack and get her teammates the ball in rhythm. Graham looks to continue to impress and turn heads on both ends as she lead the charge in her senior year for Norton!     Barth is the primary point guard for the Cloverleaf Colts. She is able to handle the ball well versus pressure and facilitate the offense. Barth is a elite when attack downhill and finishes well through contact around the basket. The chemistry that she has with her post teammate Kendall Seiwerth is next level! Barth understands how to read the defense and knows when pull for her own shot. She is at her best when attack downhill in transition setting up her teammates for scoring opportunities. Barth will look to continue to turn heads and impress with her play on both ends during her senior year for the Colts!     Shook is a strong forward who battles hard on the offensive glass! She loves to go up strong and convert through contact and draw fouls. Her energy on the defensive end sets the tone for the Colts. Shook has great chemistry with her point guard Evie Barth as they both play off each other well in the halfcourt. She is more than capable of running the floor and scoring in transition. Shook will look to continue being the interior anchor the Colts need on both ends of the floor throughout her senior year at Cloverleaf!
