Memphis Guards On The 2029 Watch List

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The 2029 Class Watch List was updated this week from 71 players to 161 players. The Watch List will likely change to a ranking after completion of the regular basketball season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The 2029 Class will always be special to me because it is the first class that I will get to evaluate from freshman year through their senior years of high school.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Congratulations to the following Memphis area players that were added to the 2029 Watch List. Freshman have to start over when they arrive on the high school level. They are no longer the upperclassmen they once were at the middle school level. Most times, they have to prove themselves to make the team, to get any playing time and of course, to be in the starting line up.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The following players I have personally watched. My first time seeing Deana with MBA was in the MLK Tournament. She started as the point guard.&nbsp; Defensively, her length was effective at the front of the press. She wasn't available to play in the next game I caught in the tournament. Arlington traveling to Memphis to play Harding Academy was my first time watching Rylei.&nbsp; Rylei started that game. She primarily played off the ball. Then she moved to point guard when a teammate fouled out. Her strength is the scorer role. She is quick to the basket with the ball and has a pull up shot. After six games, she is second in scoring with 10.7 points per game. My first time seeing Hannah was by watching a replay of Houston vs White Station. She had gotten back-to-back steals and layups. Then I was able to see her in person vs Collierville during the 901 Tournament of Champions. She started that game and when the game was over she had 16 points.
