The early portion of the season has been entertaining so far, with the first few weeks being particularly exciting. New teams and players have emerged, elevating their games and exceeding expectations. Today, we'll highlight a few players who have made plays in the opening games of their seasons and discuss what they bring to the floor.

The Monona Grove senior is a talented player who had an excellent performance against McFarland. She finished that game with 31 points and seven rebounds, the 31 points presumably being a career high for her. Glynn is a player who can play as a wing or around the paint and find ways to score. She is a talented athlete who uses her physical tools to make plays in the passing lanes. She is a player that small schools in the region should keep tabs on this winter if they're looking for a versatile wing.

Abigail Treichel

The River Falls forward is a talented player who can control the areas around the basket on either end of the court. She is among the top rebounders in the state in the early portion of the season and had an impressive ten-point, 26-rebound double-double against North Fond du Lac. She is a physical player who can play through contact on either end of the court and is a player who can compete at the next level.

Ali Chestelson

The Viroqua newcomer has had an impressive start to her high school career. She has rebounded the ball well in the games her team has played this season, and has played well against some physical players around the basket. She didn't seem to mind the physicality around the rim and sought out some contact when she attacked the basket off the dribble. I also like that she can space the floor and knock down perimeter jumpers when she's had space to shoot.

[player_tooltip player_id='751284' first='Sidney' last='Zehner']

The Arrowhead guard may be an excellent glue player for this iteration of the Warhawks. Her ability to get into the paint, beat her defender off the dribble, and force defenses to scramble can help open the floor for her teammates. Zehner is a talented passer, and based on her numbers, she seems to be driving to create for others this season, which can help make the Warhawks' offense more efficient than it was last season. Keep an eye on Zehner this winter.
