<p>The 2025–26 high school basketball season is here at Prep Girls Hoops, we continue to be amazed by the year-to-year growth we see in programs across the state. We're always excited to cover teams and highlight the evolving makeup of their rosters. In this article, we take a closer look at the Olathe East Lady Hawks.</p>

<p>Olathe East competes in the always-competitive <strong>Sunflower League</strong>, which features programs from across some of the most talent-rich areas in Kansas, including <strong>Shawnee Mission, Overland Park, Olathe, Gardner, and Lawrence</strong>.</p>

<p>East enters the 2025–26 season determined to turn things around after a challenging 2024–25 campaign. East finished <strong>2–10 in conference play and 4-15 overall</strong>, but with new energy and an experienced roster, they're aiming to take a meaningful step forward this year. They are lead by Johanna Falls who has been with the program a few year now. </p>

<p><strong>Key Returners:</strong></p>

<p><strong>Millie Dermer</strong> - Senior stretch forward who can really stretch the defense with her perimeter shooting ability. She can also put the ball on the floor, get to the basket, and shows a soft touch finishing with either hand.</p>

<p><strong>Katie Lefever</strong> - Senior forward who provides versatility, capable of playing on the perimeter as well as with her back to the basket. She is a relentless rebounder on both ends of the floor and excels at attacking the offensive glass for putbacks.</p>

<p><strong>Cameron Hall</strong> - Senior forward who brings valuable experience and leadership as a returning player. Hall has strong court vision and consistently makes the right play, doing an excellent job of facilitating and sharing the ball.</p>

<p><strong>Kaedyn Martinez</strong> - Senior wing with good quickness. Martinez does an excellent job playing aggressively and getting downhill to the basket. She has good touch around the rim and effectively uses floaters to avoid getting too deep into the paint.</p>

<p><strong>Victoria Wertheim</strong> - Junior guard with a solid handle and strong playmaking ability. She does an excellent job creating off the bounce to get downhill and understands when to deliver the ball to teammates. She has good lateral quickness, which helps her effectively guard the ball.</p>
