Freshman big [player_tooltip player_id='1274868' first='Sofia' last='Foreso'] had a strong two days for Bishop O'Connell, and she was a real interior presence. She fought her way into position in the post, and she battled on the offensive glass. She plays strong and she did a great job playing through contact for a freshman. She has good touch at the rim and nice post game. O'Connell struggled on offense for a lot of their game against West Potomac, but I felt Sofia was a real bright spot.

Freshman wing [player_tooltip player_id='1201607' first='Rylee' last='Thomas'] is a player to watch going forward. Rylee left her mark playing off the bench in both of Manchester's wins. Besides one fast-break floater, I think all of Rylee's buckets come off a pass or an offensive rebound. She spaced the floor well, living as a spot-up shooter, and she also does a great job crashing the boards or cutting back door. I didn't see her offer much as a shot creator, but that isn't her role right now, and she has a lot of time to grow into that. She defended well and had a big block.

Vanesa Flood's motor is elite, and it's something you love to see from someone as highly touted as she is. She missed a lot of shots around the rim, but her effort and rebounding ability kept so many possessions alive for Spalding. I loved what she did defensively, and her versatility on that end showed. She did a great job using her length to go up vertically, and she is a really fluid athlete. She is one of the best paint players in the DMV and can dominate games on both ends.

[player_tooltip player_id='1003768' first='Alice' last='Allen'] didn't get the start against West Potomac, but she made her mark. Alice hit a timely three in this game that disrupted a West Potomac comeback. She had a few lay-ins after turnovers, and after not starting the game, she finished it and had one of her better games of the year. You can't teach effort, and Alice has an abundance of that.

Amirah Royal put on a masterclass on how to protect the rim without being a great athlete against Pallotti. You hear the phrase playing below the rim and Amirah did that to a tee on defense. I don't think I saw anyone play better walling up and playing straight up on either day than she did. She is extremely strong, and players bounced off of her when they tried to finish over her. This won't show up on the box score, but it was a big reason Manchester stymied Pallotti's offense.
