The Nebraska girls hoops season is off to a strong start. Each Monday during the season we will highlight a top player from each class in our "Weekend Warriors" column. Six players. Six classes. And a weekend full of big performances.

Class A | Sanai Foster (Omaha Westside): The 6-2 post did work for the Warriors as they won the Class A/B Crossover Tournament with a 62-41 win over Gretna East in the finals. In three games, Foster had 56 points and 29 rebounds while recording double-doubles against Lincoln East and Papillion-LaVista.

Class B | [player_tooltip player_id='893232' first='Harper' last='Bohaboj'] (Bennington): On of the top juniors in the state, Bohaboj shined for the Badgers in a 68-47 win over No. 5 Elkhorn North. The uncommitted junior scored 16 points, but also commanded the floor with six rebounds, five assists and five steals. Another big test tomorrow against Gretna East.

Class C-1 | Abbie Cone (Pierce): The Bluejays find themselves in the top-10 of Class C-1 this week after a 47-37 win over then, No. 9 Boone Central and a 42-37 win over Class C-2 Ponca (2-1). A big reason was 6-foot senior Abbie Cone. Cone scored 19 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in the win over Boone Central and against Ponce added 19 more points and seven rebounds. Another big week ahead for the Jays as they travel to O'Neill and host Scotus Central Catholic.

Class C-2 | [player_tooltip player_id='502331' first='Hadley' last='Walsh'] (Pender): In a 55-46 win over Oakland-Craig, Walsh — a Wayne State pledge — scored 27 points and added five rebounds and two blocks. The game was a rematch of the 2023 state final and Pender is seeking for a fourth straight state title.

Class D-1 | [player_tooltip player_id='1060154' first='Kylie' last='Brichacek'] (Howells-Dodge): Had 21 points, nine rebounds, six assists and five steals in a two-game weekend that had the Class D-1, No. 2 Jaguars defeat Humphrey/Lindsay 55-24 and lose to conference mate Class C-2, No. 2 Oakland-Craig, 59-37. H-D has the look of a state tournament team.
