PGHNJ has just released its debut rankings for the Class of 2029! This Top 10 is absolutely stacked with talent representing both public and private schools. Let's dive in for a further look:

[player_tooltip player_id='972291' first='Angelyn' last='Almonte'] | DePaul

State Rank: #1 | Position Rank: #1

Explosive and electric, Angelyn is already making a huge impact for DePaul with her effective pull-up game, craftiness of the bounce and clutch buckets in crunch time. Playing alongside nationally ranked [player_tooltip player_id='981887' first='Giovanna' last='Burress'], she's shining just as bright and in some instances, even brighter! She's shown off a two-way skillset that included 20 points & 2 steals in her high school debut, followed by a season-high 29 points & 3 steals the very next game against West Milford. A season-high 6 steals came against North Star Academy while a 26-point explosion came more recently in a win over Holy Angels. Her size, speed and skill combination is wreaking havoc on opponents.

[player_tooltip player_id='913943' first='Sophia' last='Feeney'] | Bayonne

State Rank: #2 | Position Rank: #2

Sophia's exceeded expectations just ten games in, doing it all for the Bees! With averages of 16.9 PPG, 3.7 RPG, 1.3 APG & 2.8 SPG, she's lead them to a fantastic 9-1 start and has proved to be a problem on both sides of the ball. She floats around the court, gets to her spots quickly and does a great job rebounding out of position. Her long arms have been disruptive in the lanes, picking off passes and blitzing on the break. Inside-out scoring has piled up points both behind the arc and around the rim.

[player_tooltip player_id='1303615' first='Giuliana' last='Huaranga'] | Immaculate Heart

State Rank: #3 | Position Rank: #1

G is scoring it impressively and doing so efficiently, too! She's come up big against some of the state's very best, including a season-high 16 points vs Franklin, 12 against Teaneck and 12 against nationally ranked powerhouse Red Bank Catholic. Averaging just under 10.0 PPG, she's being assertive and taking it to the cup fearlessly, unafraid to penetrate the defense. Her 3-point shooting has been solid, court vision sharp and she's making an impact on defense as well, averaging just shy of 2.0 SPG.

[player_tooltip player_id='1566758' first='Peytan' last='Pugh'] | Bound Brook

State Rank: #4 | Position Rank: #1

What P has been doing game after game this season is just mind-blowing! Stuffing the stat sheet, she's already posted a triple-double and seven double-doubles through nine games. Her two-way game has been wicked, with double-digit steals almost every single night. Big-time performances against strong opponents include a near triple-double vs Pope John (17 points, 10 rebounds, 8 assists), a season-high 21 points against Union Catholic, and a near triple-double vs Staten Island Academy (20 points, 10 rebounds, 8 steals). The small, zippy guard has a motor that just won't quit and arguably the most fearless guard play of any freshman in the state.

[player_tooltip player_id='1235187' first='Sumaiyah' last='Lashley'] | Red Bank Catholic

State Rank: #5 | Position Rank: #1

SuSu has the potential to go even higher in our state rankings as her season and career progresses. Getting minutes as a freshman on national power RBC stacked with D1 talent is not an easy thing, even for a player of Su's caliber. However, she's making the most of her minutes and proving that she belongs. There's a lot that she does which doesn't show up on the box score and she's getting the opportunity to showcase her skill-set against the nation's best teams. She showed glimpses of greatness against Neumann Goretti (PA), Immaculate Heart, Teaneck and St. Rose. Her inside-out game is rock solid and her poise sets her apart from most players in her class.

[player_tooltip player_id='1278342' first='Alana' last='Williams'] | Princeton Day

State Rank: #6 | Position Rank: #2

One of the most dynamic point guards in this class, Alana's bag is deep! She's powerful off the bounce and is equipped with a crafty layup package. Her scoring prowess is eye-catching, as is her sharp court vision. She knows how to score and dish equally as effectively. Her high school debut saw 14 points against Hillsborough, followed by double-digit scoring through the next eight games. Alana's two-way guard play has been on full display with averages of 15.1 PPG, 6.1 RPG, 4.9 APG & 4.7 SPG.

[player_tooltip player_id='1249693' first='Ellie' last='Majewski'] | Union Catholic

State Rank: #7 | Position Rank: #2

Though listed as a W/F, Ellie is playing positionless basketball right now, dominating 2-4. Her stats across the board have led UC to three wins while playing a really tough schedule. Highlight performances include a season-high 21 points & 5 steals in a win over SPF, 20 points, 17 rebounds (season-high) & 6 blocks (season-high) in a win over Oak Knoll, 15 & 10 against Bound Brook and 20 points against New Providence. Her 3-point shooting has been hot and her play around the rim, ferocious. Her locked-in all-court game has led to impressive averages of 14.1 PPG, 6.6 RPG, 2.0 APG, 3.1 BPG & 2.8 SPG through eight games.

[player_tooltip player_id='1262071' first='Kassidy' last='Ahmad'] | Newark Tech

State Rank: #8 | Position Rank: #2

Kass wasted no time getting going, posting seven consecutive games in double-figure scoring. Her defense has been stellar as well, applying some serious ball pressure and making life miserable for opponents. Her two-way efforts have led the Terriers to an 11-0 start, recording season-highs of 24 points vs Bloomfield and 9 steals vs Montclair Kimberley. She's one of the most confident guards in this '29 class.

[player_tooltip player_id='1259311' first='Ella' last='Krayl'] | Trinity Hall

State Rank: #9 | Position Rank: #3

The sharpshooter is showing everyone what she's made of, tallying twenty-one triples in eight games, a clip of nearly three per game. Whether it's pulling up or off the catch, her quick release has proved quite difficult to successfully close-out on. Ella plays with pace and doesn't let the opponent dictate her style of play. She posted three games in double-digit scoring, including a season-high 18 points vs OLMA (also a season-high 6 triples). The Monarchs play a very difficult schedule, something that will only further accelerate her confidence and development.

[player_tooltip player_id='1259198' first='Amahli' last='Vialva'] | Morris Catholic

State Rank: #10 | Position Rank: #3

The 5'11" W/F has acclimated to high school basketball nicely, embracing the wildly difficult schedule Morris Catholic plays. Her very first game was against powerhouse Rutgers Prep, where she chipped in 5 points and 4 rebounds, attacking from the wing and being bold on the glass. She earned minutes vs nationally ranked LuHi (NY), playing cool, calm and collected against some of the best players in the country and then went on to score in double-digits in the following two games (15 points vs Medgar Evers & 11 points vs Mountain Lakes). It's no surprise why she already holds a D1 offer and did so before ever stepping foot in a high school game! She has a lot of tools both offensively and defensively.
