As the high school season moves into league play, several players are excelling and dominating the JV level. These emerging talents are poised to contribute and make an impact when given the opportunity. Let's take a look at some of the hidden gems who could soon be bursting onto the scene.    Hills is a fundamentally sound player who brings a polished skill set to her game. Her soft touch near the rim and smooth mid-range jumper make her a constant threat. She can even stretch the defense by knocking down open threes. Hills has soft hands, is a good passer, and can finish with either hand around the basket. On defense, she anticipates and rotates well. She has good handles and can initiate fast-break opportunities herself.     Herbek is a dynamic scorer who can light it up from anywhere on the court. She plays with a high level of confidence, which shows in her ability to take charge on the court. Herbek is a deadly three-pointer shooter (especially in catch-and-shoot situations), and can get downhill and finish through contact. She has a nice mid-range game and is great at the charity stripe. Herbek has good court vision and her passing is underrated. On defense, Herbek's anticipation and aggressiveness turn steals into instant offense.     After watching several games, it is clear that Hollingshead dominates the JV level with her energy. Her hustle and aggressive style set the tone for the Warriors' suffocating full-court press. She creates havoc with her defense, resulting in easy layups for herself and her teammates.  Hollingshead is a good passer and does a good job of finding open teammates. She can knock down the occasional three-pointer, which opens up the lane for her to drive.     The first thing stands out about Rogers is her quickness and agility for her size. She can handle the ball well enough to help relieve Regis of full-court pressure. Rogers does a good job of initiating contact and finishing at the rim or getting to the free-throw line. When she attacks the basket, she is capable of making the right reads and kick-out passes to open shooters.     Berry is a three-point specialist for the Warriors. She knocks down a high percentage of her open threes, showcasing her shooting ability. Berry does a great job in their full-court press, forcing turnovers by deflecting passes. She runs the floor well, allowing her to capitalize on turnovers and score easy baskets.     Martinez is a prototypical post player with good agility for her size. She anchors the Ravens' interior defense, excels at securing rebounds, and uses her length to challenge and block shots. Offensively, she does a great job sealing defenders and scoring efficiently around the rim. Martinez sets hard screens and thrives in pick-and-roll situations. She hustles in transition, which leads to easy buckets for the Ravens.     Walker, a transfer from Riverdale Ridge, is making a big impact for Broomfield's JV team. She plays with a ton of confidence as she often looks to attack defenses. Walker's quickness helps her in driving hard to the basket and finishing through traffic. Her quick feet and aggressiveness on defense forces turnovers, making her a impact threat on both ends of the floor.
