Speaking of test. I haven't seen Bartlett play since the second weekend in November. They were playing in the Earle Play Day in Earle, AR. They have played the bulk of their early schedule out of town including in Arizona for the Tournament of Champions national event.

Bartlett is a veteran squad and that experience was on full display against Houston. Bartlett has 6 seniors that's already signed to play on the next level next year. Three were in the starting line up which means 3 more came off the bench.

The way the first two possession of the game went I thought this was going to be a defensive matchup because the pressure was intense and neither team got good shots.

Over the next several possessions, Bartlett's two starting underclassmen turned the full court defensive heat up even more.

The Floor General. She initiates the offense and even some of the defensive pressure. Anniya finished the first quarter with 2 steals and converted all four of her shots at the basket. Even a break away layup was not safe from Anniya. She hustled down the floor and blocked a transition layup to prevent the bucket. I only have her missing 1 shot tonight.

Lock Down Defender. I charted Aaliyah with 7 steals tonight and she assisted on another by knocking the ball away to a teammate. She stays in defensive position when she in on the ball. She is low with knees bent, arms out and she is locked in on her assignment.

Lefty Shooter. This was my first time seeing Kaylin play because she didn't play in the Earle event. The Dyersburg State signee hit her first two shots of the game including a corner 3. I have her knocking down 3 threes on the night and a jumper.

Shot Blocker. In the 1st quarter, Shania was making it a little difficult to score at the basket. I charted her with 4 blocks in the 1st and another in the 2nd. She does a very good job of walling up, straight up and getting clean blocks.
