Davenport West got a much needed win against their cross town rival in Davenport North by a final score of 65-53. In this showing, [player_tooltip player_id='936708' first='Raelyn' last='Lacourse'] PUT on for her team scoring a career and game high of 41 points. She scored this large amount in every way imaginable. She was 14/27 from the floor and 6/13 from behind the three point line. Lacourse has been a player that we have mentioned a few times this past year as someone who will be playing at the college level following her Senior season but for now she is focused on one thing and one thing only: Winning against the competition right in front of her as we move into the month of February.

[player_tooltip player_id='1579269' first='Lauren' last='Dvorak'] put on a rebounding clinic in her team's showing to end last week. Dvorak took the floor with some bad intentions against Greene County and she made the opponent pay with her strategic play-style. When the final buzzer sounded, Dvorak finished with 15 points and 24 rebounds. Whenever you have rebounds at this amount for a regulation game, it's noteworthy. It demonstrates that the player has heart, a motor, and they aren't afraid to be confidently aggressive. We saw all of those things out of Lauren in this event and I can't wait to see how her crew builds on that moving forward.

North Union handled business against North Iowa High School to give them their 9th win of the season. The starting PG that stood out with an incredible stat line was Shallie Walders. Walders recorded 12 assists with only 3 turnovers on the flip side of things. That's an assist to turnover ration that any coach would take any day from their starting PG. Walders also had her moments of getting some shot attempts up but she mainly created for those around her and she looked like a seasoned veteran while doing it.

Dorothy Bear of Meskwaki Settlement made her mark on her team's contest just a few days ago when she stole the ball 11 different times from her opponent. This feat shows that Bear is the real deal on defense. She has impeccable timing, she knows when the opposition is weak with their dribble, and her active hands help her get several tips/deflections on that side of the ball. Stealing the ball 11 times shows a lot of dedication to the crafty and that's what you love to see.
