January Didn’t End Quietly for These Performers

January is coming to a close and it's the right time to discuss some of the top performers. Below are a few of the names that've been making some noise lately in the month. Calderon was looking like a wizard in this one; she had all the counters, showed excellent vision, set teammates up, forced turnovers on defense and made shots with a graceful touch. It's hard not to notice the great play from Lia recently. She's looking like one of the finer playmakers in all of '27.     [player_tooltip player_id='1264026' first='Eva' last='Wilkerson'] (2026) | SF | SHG   Eva posted her second double-double of the season with 20pts, 14reb, 9ast, 5stl in a scrappy win over GFA. She recently became the 3rd player in school history to reach the milestone of 100 points and 500 rebounds. Congrats Eva on the major accomplishment. The hard work isn't going unnoticed.     [player_tooltip player_id='299953' first='Bela' last='Cucuta'] (2026) | 5'10 CG | Tilton   This entire month Bela has been displaying that smooth 3-level scoring technique that she's known. She also is a key factor in having her team in prime position to contend. Bela finds herself with the upper hand the majority of times and there really aren't many weaknesses. Cucuta's most recent performances can't go unmentioned. The Tilton star put up five 3s vs Brewster, six 3s vs New Hampton, five 3s vs Dexter Southfield as well as four 3s against Newman. This output illustrates just what type of run she's been on.     [player_tooltip player_id='1350205' first='Haniyah' last='Padilla'] (2030) | CG |   45 pts, 16 stl, 7 reb, 4 ast and 2 bl is the stat-line for Haniyah in her latest game. For many these're numbers only seen in videogames. This performance is definitely remarkable, but it's also not out of the ordinary for her. Padilla is one of the most potent guards so far this season and she isn't looking like she's slowing down anytime soon. The balanced 2-way play as well as consistency is awfully striking. Her ability to be a strapping defender, make a play on the ball, create a turnover and convert those into points is staggering. Despite being young, her presence is constantly being felt. Campfield has been a rising name within her class for a while now, but in the recent '30 rankings she's gained the respect she deserves. Laine is now sitting at the #7 spot in the class.
