January Didn’t End Quietly for These Performers

Calderon was looking like a wizard in this one; she had all the counters, showed excellent vision, set teammates up, forced turnovers on defense and made shots with a graceful touch. It's hard not to notice the great play from Lia recently. She also is a key factor in having her team in prime position to contend. Bela finds herself with the upper hand the majority of times and there really aren't many weaknesses. Cucuta's most recent performances can't go unmentioned. The Tilton star put up five 3s vs Brewster, six 3s vs New Hampton, five 3s vs Dexter Southfield as well as four 3s against Newman. For many these're numbers only seen in videogames. This performance is definitely remarkable, but it's also not out of the ordinary for her. The balanced 2-way play as well as consistency is awfully striking. Her ability to be a strapping defender, make a play on the ball, create a turnover and convert those into points is staggering. Despite being young, her presence is constantly being felt. Campfield has been a rising name within her class for a while now, but in the recent '30 rankings she's gained the respect she deserves.
