Due to weather-related reasons, this may be the middle of the longest stretch I've gone without attending a high school basketball game. I won't be at another high school game until this coming weekend, when I watch West Salem travel up to the Fox Valley to take on Fox Valley Lutheran before I head back to my home area of Southeast Wisconsin to see Janesville Craig lock horns with the Elkhorn Elks, who are looking to get back to their winning ways. Today, let's look at some intriguing prospects who have been playing solid basketball this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1232213' first='Peyton' last='Cochenet']

The Mukwonago wing is one of the fastest-rising underclassmen in the state of Wisconsin. Cochenet has the physical tools and skillset that make her a handful for anyone to slow down offensively. Her speed, agility, and size allow her to exploit any defender individually when the other team doesn't play a zone. She could be a player who starts to turn heads from some of the more prominent scholarship schools in the region this summer.

[player_tooltip player_id='881134' first='Emma' last='Trautsch']

I recently highlighted the Stoughton guard, but I have enjoyed her game enough to talk about her again in January. Her ability to handle the pressure of being the focal point of her team's offense has allowed Trautsch to be successful this season. She also has a quick release on her jumper, generates her shot off the dribble, and uses that quick release to get her shot off whenever she has space on the perimeter. She's putting together a solid sophomore campaign.

[player_tooltip player_id='1278345' first='Quinn' last='Schenkenberg']

In the grand scheme of things, there is a premium on post players at every level, and players go to higher levels than they should as post players because of that premium. However, there are plenty of scholarship programs that hope to turn players into what Schenkenberg is as a sophomore. The Shell Lake forward is an excellent rebounder, uses her size well, and can finish around the basket. She is also a player who can step out and knock down mid-range jumpers, attack defenders off the dribble, and read defenses with the ball in her hands. The sophomore is a unique talent.

[player_tooltip player_id='978272' first='Eva' last='Englebert']

The River Falls native has had a solid sophomore campaign after missing her first season due to injury. Her ability to create off the dribble and make plays for herself and her teammates allows her to help her team generate open looks at the rim. I love the skillset she brings to the floor as a lead guard, and I am intrigued by what she can do in her next two seasons for the Wildcats.
