NJ Representation at Metro Classic

The Bucs are no stranger to playing elite competition, so they were more than ready for this matchup! Her physical and aggressive interior play earned her multiple trips to the FT line. Mary played fearless basketball, going up against much taller opponents and never looking rattled. A scrappy and speedy 5'3" guard, she may have been the smallest on the floor but never showed signs of being intimidated. She pushed the pace and got the ball exactly where it needed to be, especially in the 1st quarter. The way she attacked the glass and secured rebounds, you would never know she's only listed at 5'9". Her ability to sky up for boards and play bigger than her size was a difference-maker, especially against a Westtown squad stacked with size at all positions. A force inside, she used her strength to back down the defender and muscle up shots at the rim. She also did a great job grabbing her own miss for the put-back, being assertive and converting second chance points. She did a nice job denying easy access to the lanes and forcing the opponent to either turn back or give up the ball.
