There are all kinds of computer algorithms that spits out high school basketball rankings, including Prep Girls Hoops. While we are in the process of continuing to improve and work on our calculations, there are several teams who the computer ranks, that I would definitely rank higher. Here are a few teams who should definitely be ranked higher from Southwest Ohio Divisions 1-4. Tomorrow I'll take a look at the smaller schools!

Wayne - D1

Early in the year, some people might've written them off when they got beat by Northmont without their best player. Now, they've woke up the masses and are back on track to finish the regular season strong. [player_tooltip player_id='975877' first='NaRiya' last='Goddard'] 2028 (pictured above) is a sophomore who needs no introduction. She is having a fantastic season and is back from her brief injury. Dez Thomas 2028 is another guard who continues to improve. They are currently ranked number 10 in our D1 SW Ohio power rankings.

Little Miami- D2

They are currently sitting number five in the power rankings in Southwest Ohio D2 but that is likely to be adjusted once they move Mount Notre Dame into the proper divisions as they continue to tweak the ranking process. They are right in the middle of the Eastern Cincinnati, Conference standings, and [player_tooltip player_id='1235630' first='Avery' last='Green'] 2028 is a player that has taken the conference by storm. You got your elite kids at the top, and she is moving up that ladder! They have several kids who can produce, but are not flashy, and with the low number of teams in D2 in the region, they try to get into the upper third by the end of the year.

Western Brown- D3

The top five teams in D3 Southwest region are loaded. Taking Purcell Marian out because they are actually D4, all the other five schools are a notch above. But here comes Western Brown. They are currently #9 they have three kids that can get the job done offensively. J Jenike 2028 continues to add to what's a loaded sophomore class. 2026 [player_tooltip player_id='1162240' first='Peyton' last='Butler'] and junior [player_tooltip player_id='947714' first='Aubrey' last='Schaffner'] 2027 add to what is a potent offense averaging almost 70 points per game. They should be ranked higher than what they are. They should probably be 6–7 as they have split with Goshen, who is ahead of them.

Hamilton Baden- D3

Their conference is just incredible. They have a .500 record. They have their full squad now, and having [player_tooltip player_id='538041' first='Braelyn' last='Even'] putting up the numbers that she has makes them ultra competitive. Carroll got them pretty good recently, but they battled and lost to CJ by only five on the road on Monday. I think they're close to a top 10 when they've got everybody. Let's see how they do in the postseason!

Cincinnati McNicholas- D4

They had a huge win over CJ in a conference battle and continues to prove all the doubters wrong. I mean, they don't have the stars. They just have a good balanced talented team who plays well together. They can defend, they score about 50 a game and they're 13–3. They are currently 11, I feel they should be top 10.

Kettering Alter - D4

They start out the season 2–3, then fast-forward to last weekend when they defeated Carroll. This team just gets it done, they lose one of the best players in the state in D4, it's uncertain about 2028 [player_tooltip player_id='1257610' first='Sarah' last='Brand']'s return but she's back and trying to work herself back into the shape. [player_tooltip player_id='833878' first='Izzie' last='Arcuri'] 2028 is just a steady rock. Da'Shai Shephard is a 2026 who just committed, which should take some of the pressure off of her. This team is always well coached and comes prepared!
