One of those is the She Got Next MLK Showcase, the third of A1 Hoops Report's marquee events that take place throughout the season. It emanated from 5A Division 1 school J.L. Mann – which also hosted the She Got Next Christmas Classic last month.

Aiken put together one of the signature performances - if not the signature performance - of the day as 5A Division 1 Mauldin put together an offensive and defensive clinic against a tough SCISA 4A out in Ben Lippen. She tallied a jaw-dropping 30 points for the Mavericks. Aiken has established herself as one of the premier freshmen in the Palmetto State. It appeared if she had the ball in close proximity to the rim, Aiken would score. She also did so when not in close proximity to the cup – she connected on five of her 3-point attempts. Out of the 28 points she placed on the scoreboard, 19 took place in the third quarter.

Many an onlooker likely believed the contest between 4A Westside and 5A Division 1 Dorman would be the game of the day. It was – from a Rams perspective. Because of a 25-point outburst courtesy of Westside's star 2029, the Rams routed the Cavaliers by a final score of 84-52. Dorman's defense simply had no answers for how effective Marshall was in attacking the rim and finishing strong at the cup. At 5-foot-10, Marshall is not only a talented scoring guard but also a rebounding one as well. Creating additional opportunities with her defense is another strong point of the freshman who has been playing varsity since she was a seventh grader.

Haroski ensured her Warriors of 5A Division 2 Riverside would snap what was a three-game losing streak in impressive fashion. By virtue of her 18 points, Haroski powered the Warriors to a 65-31 victory over 1A Lee Central. The Warriors' win was their second-largest victory this season in terms of point margin. The [program_tooltip program_id='715412' first='SC' last='Eagles'] product and Middle Georgia State commit has made a name for herself with what she can do behind the arc, but her rim attacking capabilities can throw defenses off guard when guarding the two guard. Haroski can also pile up the assists as she is every bit as accurate a passer as she is a sharpshooter.

A marquee matchup on the eight-game slate included a potential 5A Division 1 Upper State preview between Byrnes and host J.L. Mann. Thanks to the 17 points that were placed on the scoreboard by Silver, the Rebels got the better of the Patriots on J.L. Mann's home court in what was arguably the best matchup of the day. The Patriots' defense had no answer for her sharpshooting heroics. Silver hit paydirt on five of her tries from behind the 3-point arc – including three in the first quarter alone. Someone with that type of accuracy can throw defenses off guard when she decides to attack the basket. Rebounding is another strong element to her game.

The first blowout of the day occurred in the third matchup of the eight-game card when 5A Division 2 Eastside put together an offensive and defensive clinic against 3A Pendleton. Humbert, a freshman, led the Eagles' flight with 15 points. The 5-foot-3 understands the art of keeping her hands active on defense in an effort to deflect an opposing team's pass. Humbert also gets the concept of being accurate from behind the 3-point line. Out of the five 3-pointers that Eastside connected on against Pendleton, three of them departed from Humbert's hands. Humbert is a freshman who is already one of the three team co-captains.
