Under The Radar: Players Shining Quietly

This season, several standout players are quietly fueling their teams' success. While many fly under the radar, their efforts are making a real difference. Some are leading their teams, and others are playing key roles in their teams' futures. Let's give these unsung heroes the recognition they deserve.    Ferguson has been the driving force behind Arvada West's success this season. Her leadership is evident every time she takes the floor, orchestrating the offense and setting up her teammates. With a silky smooth stroke, Ferguson is a deadly three-pointer shooter. She is able draws defenders out, then uses her nice handles to slice through the defense for easy finishes. Her passing is on point, and her smart decision-making keeps the offense humming.     Watching Hilliard play defense is like watching poetry in motion. She is active, hustles, and plays with such intensity. She intercepts passes, forces turnovers with her deflections, creating fast-break opportunities for Windsor. Hilliard runs the floor well, and finishes efficiently at the rim. She can score from three-point range, adding another dimension to her game. Her intelligence and unselfishness make her an important contributor to Windsor's title hopes.     Sigg is extremely active and aggressive in Berthoud's diamond press. She is all over the place, creating havoc and causing turnovers, racking up over seven steals per game. Sigg excels at getting out and running the floor after opponents' miscues for easy buckets. She reads the game well and usually makes the right play on offense. Sigg has the ability to step outside and knock down shots from beyond the arc. She currently leads her team in scoring with over 20 points per game. Overall, her energy is fueling the Spartans' success.     Rutter has taken her game to new heights for the Kennedy Commanders this season. She leads the charge in both scoring and assists, showcasing a complete skill set. Recently, her efficiency and scoring from every spot on the floor have soared. She has been knocking down her three-point shots at a 62% clip over her past three games. Whether slashing to the hoop or draining open threes, Rutter's star is on the rise.     Curtis is part of a well-balanced attack for the Palmer Ridge Bears. She does everything well on the court. Palmer does a good job in the pick-and-roll action out of their horns offensive set, finishing on the roll. She has good footwork around the basket and finishes well through contact. Palmer looks comfortable in the high post against zone defenses, making the correct reads and passes. Defensively, Palmer rotates well and provides solid help-side defense for the Bears.     Perlmann's relentless energy electrifies the court every time she plays. Her plays with a high motor and intensity in Golden's full-court press. Perlmann's knack for intercepting passes and turning them into fast-break chances for the Golden Demons, makes her a constant threat. She battles for offensive rebounds and powers through defenders to finish at the rim. Perlmann can also confidently sink three-pointers when left open.     Torres embodies the classic point guard with good handles and the ability to drive and kick. It sounds simple, but many point guards fail to find open shooters after collapsing the defense. Torres, however, does an excellent job of finding open teammates. She plays unselfishly and takes the right shots, and can also hit open threes. On defense, her scrappy effort never lets up.
