As the week comes to a close, so does our stretch of of Monday's Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Classic, held at St. Catherine University in St. Paul. Prep Girls Hoops scout Tony Ragulen covered the top performers and yesterday I highlighted some new prospects we liked at the event. Now let's take a look at five known prospects who have stepped up their game, allowing them to stand out on Monday.

Lauren Hughes – 2026 Guard, Cloquet

A fiery competitor with a well-rounded set of skills, Hughes led the way for Cloquet at the MLK Day Classic. In Monday's matchup against Austin, the 5'5 guard impacted the game on both ends of the floor. On defense, Lauren has a fast, high-pressure style of play. Her ability to read passing lanes and stay aware allowed the Lumberjacks senior to pick up a number of steals. On the offensive end, Hughes is a confident ball handler, maintaining control even when being heavily guarded. She excels at passing in the half-court, attacks the basket with little hesitation, and consistently finishes through contact. A multi-sport athlete for Cloquet, Hughes has yet to make a college commitment.

Isabella Bridge – 2026 Guard/Forward, Cloquet

Much like her teammate, Hughes, Bridge put on a strong MLK Day Classic performance for the second year in a row. The scrappy, 5'8 guard plays with tremendous energy on the defensive end, using her quick lateral movement and active hands to create havoc all over the floor. In the matchup against Austin, Isabella face-guarded the Packers' primary ball handler for 94 feet, giving her opponent little room to breathe. On the other end of the floor the Lumberjacks senior showed off a silky midrange jumper, elevating over the defense with ease. Bridge found several other opportunities to score, using well-timed, opportunistic cuts to get a good look in the paint.

[player_tooltip player_id='1681732' first='Leila' last='Colvin'] – 2027 Forward, Cretin-Derham Hall

We first covered Colvin at the beginning of the season, following her contributions at the Twin Cities Thanksgiving Tip-Off. In the weeks since, the 6-foot-1 forward has become a consistent contributor for Cretin-Derham Hall. In Monday's matchup against Eastview, Leila excelled on the boards. Using her large, muscular frame, the Raiders junior battled for positioning, using her athleticism to nab a plethora of rebounds. On the offensive end Colvin looked to score around the rim, fighting through contact on each shot. She also showcased a textbook jumper in the midrange. With the Raiders looking to reach the state tournament for the second year in a row, Colvin appears to be hitting her stride at just the right time.

[player_tooltip player_id='852805' first='Anna' last='Buri'] – 2028 Guard, Cretin-Derham Hall

Yet another skilled guard in the deep Raiders rotation, Buri (pictured above) has been a difference maker for Cretin-Derham Hall all season long. At the MLK Day Classic on Monday, the 5'7 guard brought the intensity on the defensive end. With light feet and quick lateral movement, Anna is able to go toe to toe with most guards. When playing off the ball, the Cretin sophomore keeps her head on a swivel, allowing her to stay aware and force turnovers off of bad passes and loose balls. While we didn't see much offense from her against Eastview, Buri is a capable three point shooter who excels at knocking down shots in catch-and-shoot situations.

[player_tooltip player_id='1090085' first='Georgia' last='Watkins'] – 2030 Forward, Minnehaha Academy

With her twin sister sidelined due to injury, the Minnehaha Academy 8th grader has had the opportunity to step up her game in recent weeks. That's just what Watkins has done. At the MLK Day Classic on Monday, Georgia looked to be much more assertive than we've seen before. The 5'10 forward sought out opportunities to score, not hesitating to attack the basket from the perimeter, finishing through heavy contact. With a high degree of athleticism and versatility, the Redhawks youngster is also able to play with her back to the basket. That adaptability carries over to the defensive end as well, where Georgia ican guard multiple positions, both on the perimeter and in the paint.
