<p>The returning Three Rivers League defensive player of the year, junior [player_tooltip player_id='832080' first='Kaylor' last='Buse'], led all scorers with a complete game for the Lions—19 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 5 steals, and 4 blocks. The 5-foot-9 point guard's ability to defend on-ball on the drive and hang in the air for the rejection is unmatched in the state.</p>

The sophomore power forward won 5 offensive rebounds in the opening frame, contributing to West Linn's 3-point lead (13-10) going into the first break. <p>West Linn took control in the second quarter and never looked back. Early in the frame, senior [player_tooltip player_id='832621' first='Reese' last='Jordan'] knocked down her second three-pointer, a pull-up jumper from the top of the arc to start a 16-0 run that put the Lions ahead 32-15 at halftime. The Washington State commit ended the night with 16 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists.</p>

<p>Senior guard Sophie Maxwell contributed to the Lions' second-quarter run and scored all 5 of her points in the same frame. She finished the game with 7 boards and was the glue player Thursday night. Maxwell played solid on-ball defense and pushed the pace after securing defensive rebounds.</p>

<p>Springfield's freshman phenom [player_tooltip player_id='1264922' first='Nuari' last='Filipe'], who ended the game with a team-high 10 points and 5 rebounds, scored first in the third quarter, finishing a contested layup in transition over the outstretched arms of [player_tooltip player_id='1232847' first='Kinley' last='Buse'] and ending a more than 7-minute scoring drought for the Millers. But West Linn continued to push the pace and extended its lead to 20 points (43-23) by the end of the third frame.</p>
