In another Grayson versus Archer battle, this time to advance to the Region 8AAAAAA championship game, the stars showed up for big for both teams. Three of the best players anywhere in Georgia were all on the floor at the same time with [player_tooltip player_id='904616' first='Hailey' last='Houlder'] and [player_tooltip player_id='967982' first='Layla' last='Adams'] making the crowd ooh and aah for Archer and [player_tooltip player_id='541429' first='Coco' last='Rudolph'] holding it down for Grayson. Several other players had very good individual performances as well.

Layla had a huge impact in the post for Archer all game long and it didn't take long for her to get going. Adams had at least three balls she swatted, not blocked, out of her area on defense with what looked like little effort. Offensively, Adams had one nice tip-in outback where she rebounded the ball and laid it back up and in before her feet hit the floor. She also made a tough short, baseline jumper from a difficult angle. You don't see that a lot in girls high school basketball. Adams has very unique size, skill, and athleticism, only comparable to [player_tooltip player_id='1226988' first='Peyton' last='Frazier'] and [player_tooltip player_id='991134' first='Carib' last='Morris'] in Georgia, but she is two to three inches taller than both. A very rare and unique prospect, Adams best basketball is ahead of her and she is already a fantastic player.

I have seen Hailey play numerous times over the past five years or so and Thursday night might have been her best, most complete performance as a point guard I have seen from her. Houlder put on a ball handling display, pulling out combinations that had defenders going the wrong way and the crowd yelling. The ball was on a string and she was in complete control. Houlder also had a couple sportscenter top ten passes to [player_tooltip player_id='967982' first='Layla' last='Adams'] after shaking her defenders off the dribble. I have been a believer in Hailey for along time and it was great to see her run her team like a mature, experienced point guard in only her second high school season.

Brown played with a lot of fire, passion, and energy and made several impressive plays for Archer. Brown's athleticism is very obvious and was on full display as she sprinted the court from end to end defending the rim on defense and attacking the basket and glass on offense. Brown had one very impressive block and let out a yell that fired up her teammates and led to a small run for the Lady Tigers. In a game where everyone was playing as hard as they could, Mariah stood out with how hard she played. Her effort, activity, and enthusiasm were missed while she was out injured.

Jurry, like Brown, played so hard in this game it was impossible to ignore. She was active throughout the game on both ends with her length and quickness. Jurry played very good defense and rebounded the ball well for Archer. She also showed a lot of skill finishing around the basket. One play Jurry cut from the right elbow after getting a screen and dove to the left block and caught a bullet from [player_tooltip player_id='904616' first='Hailey' last='Houlder'] before rising up quickly and finishing over the defender off the glass. Her energy was a huge spark for Archer in the game.

Coco did what Coco has been doing for years, score the ball with defenders dropped all over her. She is an outstanding player who has been well known in Georgia for a long time, so being at the top of opposing team's defensive scouting reports is nothing new for her. Rudolph has found a way to adapt and still get buckets. She was excellent on the break where she did most of her damage for Grayson. Her length, quickness, and IQ are very impressive. She used all three finishing contested lay-ups over and through defenders.

In a chaotic, close competitive rivalry game, Zoie looked like she was out for a stroll in the park. She is a complete player and very good floor general for Grayson. Lofton is an elite ball handler and passer. She makes good decisions with the ball and doesn't force bad passes or shots. Lofton plays with a lot of maturity and that was needed in a chippy rivalry game that had a lot chirping going onbeteen players during the game. She played the game at her speed and did an outstanding job changing her pace with the ball throughout the game to keep the defense guessing as to what she would do with the ball next. Lofton should have a very good career playing at Georgia State.
