One of the best, if not the best, at blocking shots and grabbing rebounds this weekend. Adams is a prime-time ball swatter if you come into her area without a definite plan. She will make you look silly because she can deflect shots at all different angles and she loves to do it with authority. Her defensive skills alone make her an elite player.

Layla did what she does this weekend in Charlotte on the court for FBC United- block shots impressively and with authority, run the floor really well for her size, and showed very good touch shooting the basketball. Adams is a very intriguing prospect who has the physical gifts every player and coach dreams off and she uses it well. Layla is explosive around the rim and uses her wingspan to her advantage swatting balls out of bounds and clearing the boards on both ends of the floor. She has the ability to knockdown shots from the midrange pretty consistently from the times I have watched her and she does a nice job converting those offensive rebounds into easy put backs. There is a lot to love about Adams potential as a player. She is a player who has already drawn the interests of several programs in the Power Four conferences including offers from schools like UGA and Ole Miss. Her team will be on the main courts with some of the biggest crowds of major division one college coaches anywhere in the country at every live period event playing for Coach Mo, so the opportunity to shine and standout in front of the people you want to will be there. Layla has all the ability and size to draw more interest and earn more offers from the best women’s college basketball programs in the country.

Layla had some dominant stretches at times during the games I watched Archer play this season. There were other times where she was not on the court for long periods. Consistency will be key for Layla if she wants to play at the very highest level of college basketball and beyond, something she absolutely has the physical gifts and potential to do. Adams, like Ojeme, is from Europe (Switzerland) and the physicality of the game is something that may take time to adjust to. With that being said, Layla flashed as impressively as any post player I saw this season when she was on. Blocking shots out of bounds and off the backboard, knocking down jump shots from the midrange and even a few threes without hesitation showed why some Power Four programs have already extended offers. Her potential is obvious and undeniable. Now, Layla has to put in the time, energy, and effort if she wants to become one of the nation’s very best.

Layla had a huge impact in the post for Archer all game long and it didn’t take long for her to get going. Adams had at least three balls she swatted, not blocked, out of her area on defense with what looked like little effort. Offensively, Adams had one nice tip-in outback where she rebounded the ball and laid it back up and in before her feet hit the floor. She also made a tough short, baseline jumper from a difficult angle. You don’t see that a lot in girls high school basketball. Adams has very unique size, skill, and athleticism, only comparable to

With elite size, length and intriguing perimeter skills, Adams flashes serious two-way potential. She handles the ball well for her frame and moves fluidly. Layla can stretch the floor and get downhill to finish. As her strength and aggression improve, her ceiling as a do-it-all forward will only rise. Multiple D-I programs have offered,

came down from Georgia with her team, Union Grove, and proved she’s not only one of the best in Georgia but also one of the top players in the nation. At 6’3″, Adams moves effortlessly down the floor and plays aggressively, attacking for rebounds and securing them at the highest point without bringing the ball down, making it difficult for defenders to stop her from scoring.
She displayed an excellent understanding of post moves, utilizing a quick drop step and her length to shoot over defenders. Adams also used step-throughs effectively, ensuring that minor contact didn’t prevent her from finishing strong. Additionally, she showcased her court vision by finding open teammates when double-teamed, keeping the ball high to see over the defense. She even delivered a couple of impressive bounce passes, passing her teammates open in stride.
On the defensive end, Adams demonstrated the importance of playing straight up, frequently altering opponents’ shots even when she couldn’t block them outright. With a few Division I offers already,

Adams has the natural tools to become a top player in the 2027 class. She didn’t see any varsity minutes as a freshman, but she has too much skill to not be a difference maker in Year 2. Coppin State, Jackson State and Northeastern have all already offered the potential unicorn. At 6-foot-3, Adams has elite size and length but also has guard skills and a pretty shooting stroke. She can play on the perimeter, make passes out of the high post and of course dominate games defensively. Adams flashed her monster upside, picking up 8 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal and 3 blocks.
