New England Ballers to Watch For

Every season, New England showcases a new group of basketball players making noise on the court. With strong performances and well-rounded skill sets, these ballers have earned recognition as ones to watch.    Cheyanne is a strong ball handler who consistently weaves through defenders to get into the paint, where she shows creativity and touch finishing over taller players. She brings great energy on the offensive glass, often tracking down her own misses and converting quick putbacks. Around the perimeter, she's a reliable spot-up shooter who finds open space well. She also plays off a fundamentally sound jump stop in the lane, allowing her to stay balanced, finish through contact, or kick the ball out to open teammates.     Riley is a confident perimeter shooter with a smooth stroke and deep range, capable of knocking down threes from well beyond the arc. Defensively, she has active hands and does a good job disrupting passing lanes to spark fast-break opportunities. Off the ball, she moves intelligently, making sharp backdoor cuts that lead to easy baskets. She also shows strong court awareness and consistently finds open teammates.     Jalisa has put together several strong performances recently, including 16 points against Choate Rosemary and 17 against Sacred Heart Greenwich. She finishes well around the basket, showing the ability to score with either hand. In the half-court offense, she excels at cutting after passing and using her body to seal defenders, creating high-percentage scoring chances. She's also a threat from deep, getting her shot off quickly with a smooth and confident release.     Angelys had an impressive outing against Austin Prep, finishing with 26 points on an efficient shooting night, hitting five of seven from three and all seven free throws. She can score from deep both off the catch and off the dribble, creating space with ease. As a point guard, she controls the tempo well and delivers accurate passes that put teammates in great positions to score. Her confidence as a shooter stands out, especially on difficult shots like step-backs and contested corner threes.     Georgia is an elite ball-handling point guard who, even as a seventh grader on varsity, plays with poise and control well beyond her years. She consistently organizes the offense, pushes the pace in transition, and shows excellent court vision. Around the basket, she uses her body effectively to create space and draw contact for tough finishes. She's also a capable shooter, able to knock down threes and pull up in the mid-range when defenders give her space.
