Amazingly enough we haven't typed much about the state's top volleyball player this winter. She's worth your watch on the basketball floor, too, for the top-ranked Eagles (22-1). We believe Rautenberg could be a rare two-sport Division I athlete. At 6-4 she controls the paint and makes her team better at each spot on the floor because of her presence. Season averages of 19 points, 14.2 rebounds and 4.1 blocks per game, she also set the Milford school record with a 38-point effort against Wilber-Clatonia.

One of the feel good stories of the winter have been the Chiefs and their standout forward Parker. Omaha Nation, which has never been to the state tournament, has a 20-2 record through Friday and is prime to host a district final. For the season, Parker has averages of 19.8 points, 6.3 assists and 5.1 rebounds per contest.

Davis, who just set the Centura career blocks record at 256 and counting, has been a force for the Centurions in their 21-3 season. A legitimate college prospect at 6-0 (and maybe a few more inches now), Davis can handle the ball and step out and shoot the 3-point shot. She's also a true rim protector for the Centurion defense. For the season, Davis has averages of 14.4 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.7 blocks and 2.1 assists per game.

Werner, just a sophomore is set to rise up the class of 2028 rankings after the state tournament. The point guard runs the show for coach Brendan Dittmer and the Falcons have not lost a regular season game in her high school career. This season, she is shooting 47% from the field and averages 11.9 points per game to go with 5.0 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 3.6 steals.
