This weekend featured the second-to-last major tournament of the high school season, the Breakdown Sports Winter Lake Classic. The event was held in Alexandria, but with just three girls games on the schedule, I opted to catch the action via livestream. The matchups were competitive and there were plenty of top performers, hence why we've split things up into multiple parts. Here is part 2 of the best performances from Saturday's festivities.

Kamryn Kirkwood – 2028 Guard/Wing, Pelican Rapids

The Pelican Rapids sophomore left her fingerprints all over the matchup against Albany on Saturday. Whether bringing the physicality on the defensive end, fighting relentlessly for rebounds, or switching from guarding the perimeter to the paint with ease, Kirkwood (pictured above, left) showed a great deal of versatility on defense. It was a similar story on the other end of the floor. The 5'8 guard found ways to score at every level, from hitting shots with a textbook release on the perimeter, to making well-timed cuts to get open looks around the rim. She finished with 21 points against the Huskies. Kamryn's display of basketball IQ and strong decision making, as well as her willingness to get her hands dirty and make impact plays made a tremendous first impression.

[player_tooltip player_id='478362' first='Morgan' last='Korf'] – 2026 Guard, Pelican Rapids (St. Cloud State)

Leading the way for Pelican Rapids in their overtime win on Saturday, Korf (pictured above, right) was on fire on the offensive end. From long-range threes and pull-up jumpers in the midrange, to Euro-steps through three defenders in the lane, the Vikings senior found a wide variety of ways to score. As things came down to the wire, the 5'7 guard earned multiple trips to the charity stripe, keeping her team in the game. Ultimately, it was Morgan's six made free throws in overtime that sealed the win for Pelican Rapids. Of course, the St. Cloud State commit made major defensive contributions, too. Whether making hustle plays, dime passes in transition, or hunting for rebounds, Korf's defensive intensity was unmatched. She finished with 32 points against Albany.

[player_tooltip player_id='1268132' first='Arianna' last='Hovland'] – 2027 Guard, Pelican Rapids

The Pelican Rapids junior (pictured above, middle) put on an epic three-point shooting performance on Saturday, hitting six shots from beyond the arc against Albany. As soon as the ball tipped, Hovland began looking for her shot. Thanks to her smooth, consistent release, the 5'6 guard got hot right away. Just a few minutes into the contest she had 9 points. By halftime she had 15. The second half was much quieter for Ari, who didn't score again until the Vikings were down 65-62 with 10 seconds to go. As the ball crossed half-court, Hovland curled and ran through the elevator screen, caught the ball at the top of the key, and hit the shot to send the game to overtime. She finished with 18 points in the win.

Isabella Schiffler – 2026 Guard, Albany

After leading the Huskies in scoring all season, Schiffler put on another big performance at the Winter Lakes Classic on Saturday. The 5'4 guard looked for opportunities to score as soon as the ball was tipped. Using her quickness and crafty footwork in the paint, Isabella got downhill to the basket, where she scored with a variety of finishes. As evidenced by her five trips to the free throw line (where she shot 8-9 in the matchup against Pelican Rapids( the Albany senior has a knack for absorbing contact at the rim and getting her opponents in foul trouble in the process. Despite the overtime loss to the Vikings, Schiffler's performance was a bright spot for her team. She finished the contest with a team-high 19 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='983021' first='Lylah' last='Findley'] – 2028 Guard, Albany

Despite getting off to a slow start in the first half, Findley was highly impactful down the stretch in the matchup against Pelican Rapids. On the defensive end, Lylah's ability to move quickly from side-to-side and the bounce in her step made things challenging for the other team. She put pressure on the ball handlers, got her hands in the passing lanes, and locked down the perimeter. Going the other way, the Albany sophomore held it down at the point guard position throughout the contest. The 5'8 guard handled the ball with confidence, even under heavy pressure from the defense. In the second half Findley found her stride on offense. She knocked down shots from the outside and blew by defenders to get to the rim, drawing fouls in the process.
