Last week we unveiled the updated Prep Girls Hoops Class of 2028 rankings, expanding our list from 100 to 125 players. That created opportunities for a new wave of prospects, including six athletes who managed to crack the Top 100. These sophomores have plenty of time to continue developing their game, but placing them in the Top 100 is an indication that they have scholarship potential. Here's our evaluations of the highest-rated 2028 newcomers

#78 [player_tooltip player_id='992413' first='Kennedy' last='Lewis'] – guard, Sartell

Pictured above, Lewis is an old-school point guard who runs the show for Sartell with poise and intelligence. The 5'5 floor general has a smooth left-handed stroke that makes her a threat from deep whenever she steps beyond the arc. A skilled ball handler and quality passer, she sees the floor well and consistently makes smart decisions with the basketball. Lewis balances scoring and playmaking, capable of creating opportunities for herself while setting the table for teammates. Her understanding of the game stands out, as does her willingness to sacrifice personal numbers for the good of the team. A vocal leader with constant positive energy, Lewis is the kind of floor general coaches love.

#79 [player_tooltip player_id='1784590' first='Abygail' last='Griebenow'] – forward, Dover-Eyota

Griebenow leads her team in scoring at 16 points per game and makes a major impact with her size and presence in the paint. Standing 6'2 with an impressive wingspan, she combines length with mobility and coordination. Aby understands how to use her physical tools effectively, establishing position and finishing consistently around the rim with a variety of post moves. Her touch near the basket is reliable, and she steps up as a leader for her team. Defensively, Griebenow does an excellent job guarding the post without fouling – a skill that often takes years to master. Her body awareness, discipline and basketball IQ allow her to control the interior on both ends of the floor.

#86 [player_tooltip player_id='1795651' first='Taya' last='Johnson'] – forward, Luverne

Johnson may not yet be widely known across the state, but in southwestern Minnesota she is quickly become a force to reckon with. The Luverne standout is a walking double-double, drawing attention for her scoring and rebounding. Built with a big frame and strong base, Johnson uses her size to overpower opponents in the paint while showing enough skill to play inside or step out. She rebounds aggressively, blocks shots and walls up defensively to make life difficult around the rim. Taya also displays solid footwork and basic post moves, along with a smooth three-point stroke for a player her size. Strong, physical and improving steadily, she's a difficult matchup.

#87 [player_tooltip player_id='1795652' first='Macey' last='Boe'] – guard, Warren-Alvarado-Oslo

Boe does a little bit of everything for a Warren-Alvarado-Oslo team that went 25-4 this season. The long, lean guard averaged more than 17 points per game and has surpassed 1,200 career points while also leading the team in rebounding for three consecutive years. Boe's versatility allows her to play every position on the floor. She runs well in the open court with long strides and she shows creativity finishing at the rim, including a polished Eurostep. A strong perimeter shooter hitting over 40 percent from three, she excels in catch-and-shoot situations. Boe also sees the floor well as a playmaker and defends multiple positions with instincts and anticipation.

#90 [player_tooltip player_id='1795662' first='Lauren' last='Gjerde'] – forward, Perham

Gjerde has taken a major step forward this season as the starting center for Perham. The 6-foot post brings good length, a strong frame and improving athleticism that gets her past opponents and into the paint. Lauren has begun producing double-doubles while also contributing larger scoring totals as her confidence grows. She moves well up and down the floor and excels as a rim runner who finishes effectively with either hand. Like virtually every Perham player, she can knock down perimeter shots. Defensively, Gjerde blocks shots with an innate sense of timing and uses her length to disrupt passes. Physical, mobile and steadily improving, she appears to have substantial upside.

#99 [player_tooltip player_id='1795668' first='Alice' last='Hollerich'] – guard, Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial

Hollerich is a 6-foot guard with intriguing potential and the skill set to develop into a strong college prospect. She missed most of the high school season with a stress fracture in her back and was still working her way back into form by year's end, but the flashes remain promising. A very good ball handler who often plays the point, Alice sees the floor well and understands how to run an offense. She can score at all three levels and shows impressive playmaking ability. Hollerich still needs to improve her foot speed and consistency, but the combination of size, skill and feel makes her a player with D2 college potential.
