Un-ranked Anne Arundel County Standouts and Rising Stars

An early Saturday matchup in the DMV featured two top-10 teams from Anne Arundel County, Maryland. Representing smaller-market programs located roughly 25 minutes southeast of Baltimore and 30 minutes north of Washington, D.C., both schools delivered a high-level performance. While the rankings highlighted the programs, it was the unranked players who truly stood out. Their effort, execution, and poise reflected the depth of talent in the area and reinforced that quality basketball in the region extends well beyond the spotlight names.
South River Seahwaks: Edgewater, MD
Maci has a strong feel for how to use her combination of speed and length to impact the game defensively. She consistently plays the passing lanes and rotates well from the weak side, finishing with two timely blocks and three steals by anticipating and jumping passing angles. Her activity disrupts rhythm and turns defense into transition opportunities. On the offensive end, she is equally effective without the ball. Maci moves with purpose, cutting into open space and reading defensive gaps to make herself available for high-percentage looks. Her awareness and positioning allow her to generate easy baskets within the flow of the offense.

TERRYLLZ_FLICKS

Kiera brings size to the floor, yet she operates comfortably on the perimeter. Rather than settling inside, she stretches the defense by positioning herself beyond the arc, forcing opponents to respect her range. With the confidence and freedom to shoot when open, she makes defenses pay for late closeouts. She finished with 21 points, connecting on five of eight attempts from three-point range. Her ability to combine height with perimeter shooting creates matchup challenges and opens space for her teammates.

TERRYLLZ_FLICKS

Cami set the tone from the opening tip, dictating tempo while allowing the game to unfold naturally. She remained composed throughout, whether orchestrating the offense or creating her own scoring opportunities. In half-court sets, she delivered timely, accurate passes that put teammates in position to finish, recording at least five assists. Her scoring versatility kept the defense off balance. Cami finished with 26 points, connecting on five of eight attempts from beyond the arc, including three consecutive three-pointers in the third quarter that shifted momentum. She also contributed at the free-throw line, shooting 63 percent. Her ability to impact the game as both a facilitator and scorer made her performance complete.

TERRYLLZ_FLICKS

Southern Bulldogs: Hardwood, MD
Audrie plays the role of a traditional point guard, bringing strong court vision and a steady presence to the floor. In transition, she consistently advanced the ball with well-timed passes that led to easy scoring opportunities. Within the half-court offense, she showed patience and precision, threading passes through tight windows to keep the defense shifting. When the situation called for it, she was capable of generating her own offense or spacing the floor as a spot-up option. Audrie finished with seven points and at least four assists, balancing facilitation with timely scoring. Huntyr displayed the instincts of a natural scorer throughout the contest, but she elevated her play in the second and fourth quarters. Against a disciplined, physical defense, she calmly located her spots and relied on a quick, compact release to create clean looks. She finished with three shots from beyond the arc and added six points on mid-range jumpers in the gaps of the defense. Her ability to score within the flow of the game, without forcing opportunities, highlighted her offensive poise and shot-making confidence.
