When the final buzzer sounds on the season for Davenport West, [player_tooltip player_id='936708' first='Raelyn' last='Lacourse'] is going to look back and be proud of the career she put together fighting through adversity. Lacourse, the seasoned Senior PG, is someone that we don't hear or see much out of with her being located out of the Quad Cities on the East side of the state but she can hoop. She has been playing some really solid ball this Winter to follow up her successful season on the road with her Midpro Academy Program and that's gotten her some offers to compete at the next level. All in all, Lacourse shines in whatever role you put her in. She has a great feel for the game and she has some solid D3 offers because of it at this time. I'm not sure where she is going to end up at the end of the day but where ever it is, she is going to someone who can see the floor easy on with her adaptability at the PG position. She has proven that this Winter already.

CCA High School has a few top players that you consistently hear about but someone that is going to be crucial to their success come this Post Season is PG - [player_tooltip player_id='1323000' first='Kennedy' last='Stratton']. Stratton is one of their PG/SG's, that moves all over the court for the Clippers. Sometimes she is looked upon to run the offense as the PG and sometimes she runs off of the ball as the SG onto the wing or into the corner. It's really whatever is happening in the flow of the game that determines where she goes. Stratton is known for being a solid overall prospect and she needs to continue to show that as we continue to move forward. She has the potential to play some top-notch basketball while making the right choices so hopefully that plays out in front of out eyes all the way to Des Moines over the next few weeks.

When you hear about Waterloo West and how their season is going so far, you don't hear too much about their 6'5 Center - [player_tooltip player_id='1696791' first='Agum' last='Matit'] and that is deceiving because she is someone you have to account for with her size alone. In the women's game, 6'5 is very tall no matter how you phrase it. So tall that if you don't consistently have 2 or 3 people trying to box her out when a shot goes up, she is going to kill you on the glass with her reach alone as she stands around the basket. Matit is currently averaging 7 & 7 out of the Post. She is someone that is raw in the game still but she is learning at a consistent rate. To my knowledge, this is someone that is still uncommitted at this time but I don't expect that to be the case for long. You know how it goes. You can't teach height so as long as Matit has a foundation to build on, she has promise while looking towards her next fews years in college.

St. Albert is still my favorite to bring home a 1A State Title over this next month if they play their hand right. Someone who has is going to be a key part to their success is transfer Forward - [player_tooltip player_id='1579341' first='Brooklyn' last='Rutledge']. Rutledge is a handful for defenses because of her pure athletic ability. When she jumps up near the rim it's like she is floating for moments at a time, only coming back down to earth once she has a block, tip, deflection, or rebound. When you pair that with the other bigs around her and the solid guard play, you get a tough team to stop throughout the duration of an entire contest. Whenever a group has to face Rutledge and Company, they know what they are up against. It's a hard-nosed group, that has a deep lineup with experience across all positions. They aren't easy to contain and they always leave it all out on the floor. Which is why I think they have a good chance to go back2back but we will see.

DSM - Christian is a program that looks to [player_tooltip player_id='1194333' first='Addy' last='Oetker'] as their engine. Oetker brings the energy and is the best overall play-maker on both sides of the ball when she is playing confidently. Offensively, she is tasked with setting up the offense, running their systems or sets, communicating at a high rate with those around her at all times, while always being a scoring threat when the shot clock is running down. Defensively, she is their disruptor. She gets in the way and stays active as a pest to whoever she is matched-up against. She is annoying and that helps her create turnovers in the open court at a high rate. Oetker is already college committed for a reason but she is only going to get better with experience so I can't wait to see what she turns into moving forward.
